Harriet Lane Model Shipways Solid hull build log by Peter Gutterman [COMPLETED BUILD]

Peter,

Nothing says that ship models must be large to be excellent. I remember a friend, Dr. John Tilley, scratch built a model of the Constitutional Frigate Confederacy that is outstanding. My guess is that it was approximately 1/180. Unfortunately, John passed away a few years ago. But his was yet another example of what can be accomplished with small-scale ship models. I love the result!

Thanks. I agree. Somewhere on this forum is my 1:192 scale Baltimore Clipper. It's about 8" long overall. The guns are rigged. Furled sails made of tissue paper (like the Harriet Lane). Hands down my best model. I like the feeling of accomplishment I have with the smaller scale.
Thanks so much for your compliment. It means a great deal. ;)
