HIGH HOPES, WILD MEN AND THE DEVIL’S JAW - Willem Barentsz Kolderstok 1:50

Heinrich, I admire you’re perseverance and dedication to get your WB #2 build just right. I assume that since the first side only took eleven or so hours that the other side will take about the same time. I hope you have enough coffee and cigarettes on hand. Can you post left handed since you might need to let your right arm rest for a couple days :rolleyes:
Thank you, my dear friend. In hindsight, it was probably not necessary, but it is what it is now, and I have to see it through. This whole process is probably going to take me a week, so my right arm will still get plenty of exercise. As to left-handed posting, I am sure I can manage a few emojis! :D Coffee and smokes, I have enough of, so that is good - and don't forget the Monster Energy drink. The temperature today was 38 degrees Celsius with humidity in the nineties, so the Monster is an important part of the process. :)

OH WOW, that is a tad warm (100F) and muggy. 31C/89F with 70% humidity here. I spent most of the afternoon floating in our pool. I did give a lot of thought to planking my WB but .....

Good morning Heinrich- Eish!! Will be worth it tho, time spent now will save you when you plank the hull. Heinrich my friend you are an example of good healthy living- Monster, loads of coffee and having a smoke. ROTF- you must be South African;). Cheers Grant

The perfect example of "Do as I say" - not "Do as I do?". ;)

Dear Peter. It is a big job, but now that I have started it, it needs to be finished. Oh yes, there are millions of vacuum cleaners in China - I just don't have one ;) , just like i don't have a TV.
:eek:Oh no, no vacuum cleaner.:rolleyes:Hmm, we have the upstairs vacuum, the first floor vacuum, the vacuum in the garage, the shop vacuum and the Dustbuster. :eek:Holy Moly I’m living in a ”VACUUM”.:eek::eek:

Seriously it’s quite the undertaking on your part. A lot of work, but the end result will have great benefits for the next step.

Yes, you are quite right Heinrich, if you start it, you have to finish it, i found that out as well by saying as little iron as possible on the Hermione, now i have the consequenses as wel.
But no vacuum and TV?? is this out of principle?? or do you have another reason?

Hi Heinrich, on occasion when our electric power goes down it never fails to amaze me how dependent on it we are. No power tools whatsoever, only manual tools can be used.
Daniel, I am very lucky - in the five years that I have been in China, I have never experienced a power failure. However, manual tools are all I have and are all I know how to use. I would love a few of the Proxxon machines, but as I said earlier, I wouldn't know how to use them. It reminds me of a story of a famous South African race driver. He had raw talent in abundance but never the sponsorships to put together a really competitive package. One day, we were reminiscing, and I mentioned that I would love to see him just once race in really competitive machinery. His answer was, "I wouldn't know how to drive a car that I didn't build myself." I suppose, in many ways, that is also my story.

It's coming along nicely now.
