HIGH HOPES, WILD MEN AND THE DEVIL’S JAW - Willem Barentsz Kolderstok 1:50

Oh dear ... I have only realized now that me "Calling it a day" may have been very misleading. I only meant to say that my research on this ship has come to an end, not model building per se. I am sure that somewhere in the future there is another ship (thoroughly researched by someone else) waiting for me! ROTF

Thank goodness! I think those two words sum it up adequately ROTF.

(Meaning you are not “calling it a day”).

Heinrich, an article from the paper of today, de Witte Swaan has chosen sea, for her trials at sea.
I don't know if you already got the article from someone, but i got it also for you ( and everybody interested of course )
Have fun with it. :);)
Thank you, my friend. I am glad for Mr De Weerdt and all his helpers that the ship of De Weerdt finally put to sea. More than that I won't say.

As long as we do not draw any conclusions with regards to the ship's configuration, I'm okay with it...
No conclusions. Mr. De Lange is very consistent in his depictions. He has based his art on the ship of De Weerdt and irrespective of that, I really like his work.

And would you believe it - a second painting called "Stuck in Ice"; this time showing you the starboard side.

Now let me see if I have this right - apparently @RDN1954 Johan wanted me to draw conclusions about the configuration of the ship and @Steef66 Stephan felt I needed to elaborate more on the research ... ROTF

A book @Heinrich , write a book. With pictures of course because Paul @dockattner will better understand what you write about. ROTFROTFROTF
Yes, lots of pictures please - with the parts labeled! And lots of conclusions based on your irrefutable research. Oh, and please include an appendix showing the model you built based on your exhaustive research... ROTF ROTF ROTF

This is what I wrote:"As long as we do not draw any conclusions with regards to the ship's configuration, I'm okay with it..."
Translated: "Any conclusion drawm from these gorgeous paintings are based on quicksand."
So please refrain doing so...

I think I need to put a few facts straight. ROTF Those of you with good memories will recall that @dockattner Paul is actually one of the artistic directors on this build. So, I suppose I might let the cat out of the bag. Paul and I are actually thinking of releasing a kit of the HMS Victory in which we will prove that it was actually of Dutch/Swedish origin. This newly developed kit will feature hundreds of build pics, two test builds and the most comprehensive instruction manual you can find! (All based on extensive research, of course!)

In fact, we have discovered that the Victory is actually a refit of a previously unknown Vasa sister-ship recently found in a warehouse in Amsterdam...

For the new instruction manual, give ChatGPT a chance with some instruction lines. I am sure it will come with some oh’s, ah’s, mmmh’s etc.
