Part 11: Second part of the masts and the first yards.
September 2024

Today, just a brief update. However, there are a number of photos of the next step: making and installing the second part of the masts (marsstengen in Dutch) and making the first three yards.

Superb Eric. I’m glad you have move ahead of my Bounty now as when I get back to working on her I have an example of how to build a Bounty:D:D. Cheers Grant

Good morning everyone,

I hope everyone has had a good start to the new year.

Today, I am posting the final update on the work I have done in the past. In doing so, I have summarised more than five years of work in a few weeks.
From the next update onwards, I will be reporting “live” on the progress of the completion of this project.

In this update, I will use a large number of photos to show how I finished the masts up to their highest point, completed the standing rigging and hung the first four yards.

We have now reached the point where my version of the Bounty was on display at the Dutch National Maritime Museum in Amsterdam.

Among others, @janzwart organised a fantastic day at the end of September last year, which was attended by many Dutch ship model builders.
(The guy unrecognisable in the background in the second photo, for example, is Peter Voogt. These photos were taken by Jan Zwart. Others who were present included: Janzwart , petervoogt, Scheepshoorn, Maarten and many others.
