Well, it certainly doesn't buy much anymore. Maybe a soup and half sandwich at Panera...16 USD is zero in my book

Good afternoon Heinrich. Remember the days of Klippies and cokeHow does the old saying go in South Africa - At 500 ZAR a bottle of brandy remains a bargain! 16 USD is zero in my book!
Good afternoon Paul. I always find it fascinating how the buying power of a dollar/rand varies from country to country. For $16 Arlene and I could go to my favourite restaurant, Marenellos (@Heinrich knows it well) and have a Pasta/Pizza, a beer and some wine. In modelling speak it is pretty much zero tho even here in Melkbosstrand.Well, it certainly doesn't buy much anymore. Maybe a soup and half sandwich at Panera...
Good morning Dom. Thank you for the compliment - your feedback is much appreciated. I have opened my Enterprise kit just to peak however I do want to finish this before I get carried away with the new as well. Cheers GrantHi Grant,
I am way behind catching up on a few builds that I have been looking at. Very impressed with the up-grade, I would not tackle something like that, I think my efforts would end up as a destruction job rather than deconstruction/reconstruction! The Enterprise should be a really nice project to do, my next one is ready and waiting as well but, I have no idea when I will start it (maybe next year at the rate the CS is going!).
Dom
Nice mathematics, Heinrich, very nice...How does the old saying go in South Africa - At 500 ZAR a bottle of brandy remains a bargain! 16 USD is zero in my book!
When an English teacher does maths, rationalising is the name of the game - that way anything can be justified.Nice mathematics, Heinrich, very nice...
Gonna try that with my better half: "Yeah, I had to order some stuff, 10 different pieces of hardware and some other stuff @ €16 per order, but since €16 is zero in my book, it's ten times zero equaling zero. A real bargain."
Thank you PeterA beautifull start of your rigging Grant, and i hope you have a lot of fun and succes with your Enterprize.
A nice continue of the rigging, Grant. The color of the deadeyes, blocks and ropes gives nice contrasts.Good morning.
The standing rigging of my Bounty continues. A hodge podge of ropes, blocks and 3D printed deadeyes has made for an interesting outcome. Some pics of my progress:

Thank you kindly Gentlemen. Heinrich I do enjoy rigging however the rope quality is paramount in achieving some definition in the rigging. I view my Xebec vs this Bounty and it is very noticeable in knot trying, seizing and the pattern in the line itself. I’m happy how this “budget” redo is coming out tho. Cheers GrantGrant it really seems as if rigging comes very natural to you and the results are most convincing. Doe zo voort, young man!
In the Netherlands, for that amount, you can park your car nearby the restaurant, and if you are lucky you don't have to refill the meter during your dinner. That last one is at least 10 times the amount of your parking ticket, without drinks and the dessert after. For $16 Arlene and I could go to my favourite restaurant, Marenellos and have a Pasta/Pizza, a beer and some wine.
This time I don’t agree with Stephan ………In the Netherlands, for that amount, you can park your car nearby the restaurant, and if you are lucky you don't have to refill the meter during your dinner.
