HMS ALERT 1777 cutter POF by shota70 [COMPLETED BUILD]

The missing frames are the simple ones - they will be produced faster - there is light at the end of the tunnel - hope you see also the light
Very good work my friend
Find my way back here, great work
Thank you dear friends for the support and encouragement to continue to enjoy the construction process of this beautiful and fun model.:)

hello dear friends
in the last week I focused on the preparation of frames 36-39.
frames 36-37 glued together to create the double frame
.
between Frames 38-39 I installed the partial frame.
I hope I am not boring you, because thet the most of the work on the frames is quite repetitive, the consolation is that we see progress in closing the space between the bow and the stern
.

Good evening Shota,

Extremely good work and something to look forward to when I start my Alert. A benign question: Did you use nails to hold the various elements together after gluing, or are the nails simulated, saay with a pencil?

Trevor
Dear Trevor
I use black wooden strips 1.5 millimeters thick which are transferred in a tool used by jewelers to narrow the thickness of brass wires
20220205_225848.jpg
with it I reach a thickness of about 7.5 millimeters and a round configuration that simulates original nails.
Hope I answered your question

Dear Shota,
Thank you for your response. If I have understood you correctly, the wood strip becomes round by passing it through the tool. Then you cut off a length of 1,5 mm and glue it into position on the frames?
Trevor.
Dear Trevor
The tool allows the reduction of the thickness of the strip of wood from 1.5 millimeters to about 0.75 millimeters.
The length of the strip / rounded nail entering the hole in the frame is about 2.5 millimeters deep.
Hope I understand

The more I read about POF builds and trying my hands onone myself, the more I find myself getting addicted.
Nice modeling, Shota.
PS You and your family completely recovered from covid?

good evening dear friends
The pace of construction has slowed a little bit in the last few weeks, due to returning to the routine of life - work, family, recreation .
So in the last week I decided to vary and change direction, which means that this time I worked on preparing a frames from the stern direction, at the end of the process I installed the frames 57-54 as well as the frames split between 56-55.
I will let you be impressed by the attached photos.

Your frame work is looking great, soon the jig will be full and you can move to the next step.

This makes me want to pull my kit down from the shelf and get started, but I must clean up some room first.

Yes my friend. As life happens, it is sometimes necessary for our shipbuilding to take a backseat.

good day dear friends
in the last week I continued to worked on preparing the frames from the stern direction, at the end of the process I installed the frames 53-50 as well as the frames split between 52-51.
As you will notice there are not many frames left to complete the structure of the ship. I admit it put a fortified spirit into the sails of creation and acceleration, as the monotony of the present stage might have hurt a little the meticulousness of the process, but do not worry this foreign spirit was thrown off the Ship deck quickly.
I will let you be impressed by the attached photos.
