HMS Endurance Build . . .

Was not looking forward to building these ladders. First ship I did them for took too long and produced a few extra words.

This time I made a jig to hold the uprights. Two saw blade cuts about 1mm deep rung distance apart. Can place enough rungs to stabilize the whole ladder. Once the CA sets remove and add the remaining rungs. When completely set then the surfaces can be sanded before priming.

Much faster this time and very few extra words.

Most of the deck furniture is done and in place. Cutting out the stanchions and placing them was quite a project. Started last night adding the ropes that was not much easier. It will look good when I finish but I would rather do ratlines I think.

Rebus, that’s really looking sharp!

Appears you might have knocked the portside funnel out alignment, although it could just be the perspective in the photo.

First thing I looked at when I got home was to see if it was the perspective or if I needed to fix the funnel. I was happy to find out it was just the perspective. Thanks for saying something, I would hate to miss a small mistake like that.

Been busy as an elf working in Santa's Workshop. Gift for my 6 year old granddaughter. She saw some of my builds and wanted me to make something for her.
It's about 12"x10"x11". Lots and little fiddly parts. Took about 25 days to build.

Next up ship in a bottle for my 8 year old grandson. Going to do most of it myself but will get him to help me put it in the bottle and finish it.

Then I will get back to the Endurance hopefully next week.

I think you've done such a wonderful job! Your granddaughter will love you even more than before...:DThumbsup Simply fantastic. I'm excited to see your bottle ship, which is called a 'Buddleschiff' in German, and I hope you'll write a little report about how you built it or at least post some photos... I'd be delighted...:D

Diffidently not switching worlds. A granddaughter can make you change plans though. The move back to ship building starts today with the buddleschiff.
