HMS Enterprise 1774 POF 1:48.

Good afternoon. The aft cant frames and transom pieces.

I made the transom, counter rails and stern timbers . Only the transom pieces have been fitted as the others appear fragile and I will only fit them after sanding the hull.

I made a production line on the floor to make the cant frames and spent plenty time on my hands and knees.. Making one at a time was “for the birds”. When Arlene sees I’m using her books I may be in need of medical assistance ROTF o_O….

You're making great progress on this kit Grant. Those frames look perfect. Nice job mate

Grant,
This is one of the very few, if any, kits with the rabbet stopping short of the inner post as it should for this era. Was this in the kit instructions or did you do this on your own? Either way it is great to see it done!!

Hi Allan
The rabbet on top of the keel is laser marked in the kit, and it stops before the inner post. This kit is superb.

You are working very fast and accurately ! Very clean joinery...At this point in my build of the CAF Enterprise, (back in early 2020-I was very young then) I had already screwed up several times. I*ts a lot off fun to follow your parallel build of Enterprise.

Good evening Allan. This was me. The kit tells you to cut the rabbet all the way to the post. I am very impressed that you picked that up- although with your understanding and eye I shouldn’t be surprised ;). I think I saw this on Paul’s (@dockattner ) kingfisher and checked the same for frigates of that period. Cheers Grant

Look like a lot of fun. Making a POF without paying for all machines :). Remarkable how kits evolved compared to the 90-s ones. It will be a fantastic model, it's in good hands
Cheers

Good evening Alex. Thank you. I don’t know if it’s fast or just the number of hours. I wake up very early (not by design- I just suffer from insomnia) so I play with my ships for about 4 hrs each day before I head off to the office. I struggle with joinery and I have really tried to get it right recently- still away to go, so thanks for the encouragement .I have a feeling any errors will be revealed later…..do I hold my thumbs. Cheers Grant
PS: sorry on my kit the rabbet line was not laser marked. The tiny red line on the drawing s (the one you can hardly see ) takes the rabbet all the way to the stern post.

Good evening. Thank you kindly and for the encouragement- I do appreciate it. The kit is really good but allows no room for error and no resources for redos….adds to the fun.:D:D.Cheers Grant

Really? No room for redo, that's unacceptable. Model without re-dos is uncompleted;):)
