HMS Enterprise 1774 POF 1:48.

Good evening Gentlemen.

Frames are in. I am really happy with the outcome so far. Obviously there is some sanding to be done however I am encouraged by the flow and lines just from the frame prep.
Non the less there is many hours of sanding coming up.

That looks the biz. Grant. A work of art on its own. Love the gentle lines and curves. Fantastic!
Splendid, absolutely splendid. Great to see it all come together.

Happy Easter Grant. Have a good one

Grant,
Impressive ! Your hull looks great, very smooth lines and flow. After sanding, and keelson, next step is really tricky- finding the exact location of the longitudinal clamps that hold the decks. How are you planning on doing that ? Dockyard's has a set of thin plywood templates that fit inside, along the inner border of several frames, with notches indicating where clamps and other longitudinal timbers are located. I thought about sending you paper plans of these, but it wouldn't work since I am sure the moulded dimension of the frames in CAF vs Dockyards' versions are different. I'm sure you will figure out a way. I'll be watching with interest.

Wishing you a joyful and grace-filled Easter.
Thanks Jim and Keith.
I really like the way you took those photos to show all the excellent framing. Coming together really well.

Happy Easter, enjoy your days off.
Good evening Roger. I hope the framing is truely as good as the photos show. I’m waiting for that OH No moment when it is removed from the jig. Let’s see. Thank you for the compliment.

Thanks Alex. I did these clamps yesterday. They were a lot more tricky than I expected. Thank you for the heads up previously re the measurement on the plans being the deck level and not the clamp/beam level. I would have got this wrong no doubt just by using CAF plans and directions ….whew. I made a “Grant jig” with the respective measurements on it. I then used this against a ruler going through to both sides and built up the ruler height with blocks of wood to match my marker. Checked both both sides and marked the respective frames.

Once I installed the beams (used 3 pieces) I checked with a spirit level.
