That friese is looking nice Grant.Good morning Gentlemen. I’m relaxing in the town of Hermanus with family and some friends. Pretty cool.
I wasn’t going to post these pics as I have so much fettling to do on the ports - need to square them off and trim some poorly measured planks - ahh nothin wrong with a little WIP.

I add the Friese supplied by the kit - first time for me and it is a lot more fiddly than I expected.
Planked some of the bow also WIP.

One day will present a finished part for you guys but not this day.
Cheers Grant

Good morning Daniel. Thanks. I’m still debating about this friese. It is a decal supplied by kit. Sometimes I think it looks great and others not so much. It is the reason why I put some on now to have a look and get an idea.Hey, Grant the Friese looks great! The Friese I had on my HMS Fly was photo etched brass but yours looks professionally hand painted. I'm curious, how is it made?
Thanks Paul. It is always a pleasure to spend time with the family. We had a fire fighting experience and some houses had to be evacuated. Cape Town always has plenty fires this time of year but luckily the vegetation is fynbos and small trees so mostly containable. Being by a lagoon helped the helicopters as well. Still no wakeboarding wind is crazy. Cheers GrantVery nice, Grant. Enjoy your time away!
Thanks Peter. That is awesome. It is a good place if the wind is right to paraglide. Hermanus is crazy this time of year, so many holiday makers. Luckily we are on the Stanford side on the lagoon so more peaceful. Cheers GrantThat friese is looking nice Grant.
I have great memories on Hermanus. Gliding the mountain ridge behind it to Fernkloof with a great view over the ocean.
Regards, Peter
Thank you kindly. That is a true story. Cheers GrantHello, GrantTyler.
Processing wood into model-making material is tedious work, but you can't start without it.
We're all in the same boat.
Keep up the good work.
You're a wonderful ship modeler.![]()
