HMS ENTERPRISE by Keith 1:48 scale. New Kit from M.D.

Really helpful Just ordered the Kit (WEll Monday)
Was a bit worried as I messedup Blandford with Stain Will follow you exactly and get it right
Had too buy my wife a new Cooker to justify this purchase
O Well when i had a ne quattro it was a diamond ring Q!
So, are you going to create a build log and join us here in the group build? :)

Why not just Copy it Should be 100% and no need to use cling film
Not all the same. There are 37 frames and another 16 cant frames. The frame numbers from 1 to about 12 provide a taper to the hull so they are a different shape with different tapers. Then again starting at about 24 through 37 also has a different shape because you are getting more of the V at the bottom near the stern as you get closer to the rudder.
I hope that helps. :)

I have changed the method of making up the frames on the drawing sheet. I now just put a piece of sticky tape over the areas where the joints are, i.e. the chocks and make the frame directly over the drawing. When the glue is dry it lifts straight off without damaging the original so it can be used for both A and B side. No need to copy the original sheets. Works a treat

Yes I think So
Be interesting Not done it before
Paid For And hoping it will be here Maybe Next week
When you say group build are you saying i can add comments on here
Or Create a New Build LOg
Create your own, new build log in this section specifically for builders of this kit.
If you go to this
link to threads
you will see a "window" at the top where it says "Thread Title". This is where you would put the title of your own thread. :)
It might take a little longer to get then you think to get your new kit. :)

Hello Keef,
I'm seeing your build report for the first time now. What a wonderful kit you've bought. May I ask where you purchased it? It's definitely something for me once I finish my Victory in a few years. After all, one should have something to look forward to.
I’ll continue to follow your adventure with great interest.
Best of luck!

Hi. Thank you very much for your interest in my build log. Yes This is a great kit and a really interesting model to build, as is your Victory. Good luck with that btw. Drydock Models & Parts have beaten me to it, but this is the company to contact with your order. It will be good to have you along

Sorry what i mean is Photocopy it ie EACH Plan Mens you dont damage the original or need cling film
Although i presume cling film stops the glue/frame stickeng to the Plan

On each drawing, just stick a small strip of tape over each place where there is a joint, chock or scarf joint. The glue will not stick to the drawing and you can reuse the same drawing for both A and B sides without the need to copy the originals

I use a hand held spindle sander for fairing inside and out. Wouldn't use anything else
Like the idea of a hand help Spindle sander can you post a photos
Just been advised that my Enterprise will be shipped on Tuesday should be with me the following week
