HMS Granado 1/48, POF, CAFmodel

So you did not use the original thinner planks of the kit, but used another thicker one to immitate the "thick stuff" planks?

I used the original thin plate of the kit, but I cut the width.
For example, a thin plate with a width of 8 mm was used as a plate with a maximum width of 6 mm by cutting the upper part by 2 mm.

I had a little cherry board, so I cut it out to 6mm x 2.5mm and used it for the red arrow.

I also use a tree that has been cut out to 1.2mm x 6mm.

Many Thanks for the explanation
I was also think about this, to make the thick stuff also "thick", like it was prepared in the section model of the HMS Granado.
But I decided to use the kit planking - the additional work will be the adjustments making the recesses in the riders of the mortar beds.
Very good work

Thank you, Uwe.

Except for the 4 pieces of 2.5x6mm, I cut the material of the kit and used it.

The Limberboad closest to the keel is still being adjusted.

I plan to embed nails and toothpicks only where they can be seen.

After polishing, I plan to apply paraffin wax.

All parts No. 1 ~ 3 are available
No.3 parts are quite substantial.
There is only one drawing for part No.3.
All drawings other than the frame have only side views and vertical views.
I want a cross section.

The figure head is 1/48, which is small but has a good face.

I want a little more power.

Production has started.
The museum model that this kit is aiming for is attractive, so I would like to divide it into upper and lower parts, but since the protrusions on the frame of the lower hull are ugly in the method of specifying the kit, when dividing it, I will assemble the hull with a thin saw and then cut it. is.
First of all, soot removal.

The keel is difficult to adjust because there is a gap between the parts.
When parts 1A-1, 1A-2 and 2A-12 were pasted together, it became too thick and 1A-1 was almost scraped.

Hallo @muchi
we wish you all the BEST and a HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Birthday-Cake

Dear @muchi
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, wish you all the BEST :) Birthday-Cake you are doing wonderful work on your ship model

Dear friends

Sorry for my late response. Many thanks for the kind birthday greeting.

Production has slowed down recently.
I drilled a hole with a 0.5mm drill and glued a toothpick.
Scrape off the tip of the toothpick to make it thinner.

Almost invisible unless oil or paraffin is applied.

I know it very well from my build of the Granado - the treenailing of the inner planking is a never ending work
and at the end, after installation of all interior decks , walls and mortar-bed etc. you can see maybe 20% of them......
but these details are making the difference.....
