HMS GRANADO - full hull - POF kit by CAF in 1:48 - by Uwe

Unfortunately, there is no equivalent to the actual effect of CLOU. Bitumen of Judea and CLOU (depending on the application) are the two kings of finishes.

I have been searching for a CLOU replacement here in the US after reading so much about it here, and seeing the amazing results on this model. The finish and quality of this model is simply amazing to me. I have found this, sorry to hack the thread…

I worded my post wrong…a poor translation of the can says nitro-thinner, do is it the same or similar use as CLOU
You posted correct. "Mylands - cellulose sanding sealer". It's a nitrocellulose sanding sealer, a product favoured by woodturners and woodworkers looking for a fast curing product that highlights timber grain. It would be interesting to see the Clou SDS (safety data sheet) or the MDS (material data sheet) I believe Clou has a site reference on the label for obtaining either/or. From what I gather in referencing the product with other similar brands, Wattyl, Feast Watson, Briwax, etc. it does appear to me to be Standard nitrocellulose based product. I may be wrong as I usually am but perhaps one of the SOS Clou users could post the TDS/SDS/MSDS. It may help to solve the secret. - Cheers and thank you for posting the Mylands photo. made me do some, (actually a lot of) Googling.

I am working on smaller "learning" models, while I gather materials, tools, etc. before I start my USS Constitution Cross Section. That and I need my house to sell so I can get into a proper workshop again. I cannot even imagine trying to move one of our ships partially assembled. The area to the left of these plans will be a 16' x 25' dedicated model shop, when construction is complete in 3-months.

Tobias! wow, excellent comeback post. That's exemplary!. the information data says its a fast drying product nitrocellulose based etc. Like others I mentioned previously it is supplied RFU (ready for use) fills and highlights the grain and can be overcoated with numerous other top coats. Thank you Tobias, issue solved.
