I don't know Maarten, they are very small, I would like to do something like yours but with a different picture of course, if you don't mind, where abouts did you get your picture from,

I have to apologize to you. I've done some research on Dirk Hartog and he did do a reasonable job of mapping Australia.
This is very impressive representation of Australia.
I have to wonder what we Ozzies would be like if Holland not England colonized this great country.

You have to ask Uwe, being an Austrian. Most probably he would say Aussies would be more polite then without the Dutch influence. 
This evening I spent some time on the great cabin again. The PS and SB sides will both be fitted with a bench along the sides with a cabinet in between.
But first the frame is cutted away, the hull thickened and a panel fitted.
To create everything in proper size for the 1:30 ratio I also glued togetherone of the chairs which is supplied with the kit.
The inner panel for the SB side. The W is at the position for the cabin windows. The notches in the top are for fitting the deck beams.
The next step is remove the windows and fit the bench along the entire cabin wall.
The lower part of the bench is covered with the paneling as provided in the kit.
And dry fitted in place.
Between the two windows I will create a cabinet, I am not going to use the two cabinets as provided in the kit for this cabin.
Next time I continue on the cabinet etc.

Inspiration was partly the interior of the Chapman yacht Amphion. As the interior is not known you can let go your creativity as long it fits the time frame.

Not to much progress as I was travelling a lot the last two weeks. But today had some time to build the cabin PS side, a mirror copy of the SB side.
On both sides a cupboard will be integrated.
In the front of the cupboard a glass door will be fitted and the inside I will decorate as book case.
In the door I have carved a space to fit the glass. After fitting the glass the cupboard will be veneered enclosing the glass.
Hopefully coming week I have a little bit more time to make some progress.

Today I bought a collection of small pieces of veneer to decorate the great cabin. These are coming from a large veneer trader and the remaining small pieces they sell at a low price in an assortment package. Ideal for model shipbuilding or creating veneer inlays. So I hope I have some nice contrasting veneers coming week to decorate the great cabin.

While I am awaiting my veneers to come in this week I am working on the inside of the two cabinets.
The lower shelf is fitted and the sides are covered with veneer. The cabinet will be filled with books. First I thought to fill one with china but for a ship which is rolling from time to time this is not a good idea. On the top you see the parts for the book shelfs.
This is the side view of the shelfs, in between the print of books will be fitted.

Just love your detail work and as for the china, it could be mounted on the walls as was very common in olden days.
