HMS Sovereign of the Seas - Bashing DeAgostini Beyond Believable Boundaries

I do have a curing station (also in a box). I will be using Chitubox Basic to layout and print the objects once the 3D printer is set up, which may be several months from. I am focusing on making the models currently.
Good morning Kurt. You are super well set up for your prints one day. I have been using a UV light to cure and hand washing the few prints I have done and a curing and wash station is sorely missed. I’m assuming your curing station is a resin washer as well because that is money well spent. Cheers Grant

I greatly anticipate starting the 3D printing phase, and am using that expectation to motivate me to create all the models for the decorations. Learning Blender is rough, but anythihng worthwhile usually is.

Good morning Kurt. You must be able to design these print files in your sleep by now;). I need the HMAV Bounty figure head in 1: 50, maybe you can sleep on itROTF. Jokes aside this is a massive task you embarked upon and your design work is impressive - Kudos. Cheers Grant

Hello Grant! It's slow. I can't wait to actually get back to physical work on the model. It needs to be done though. Cabin fever is setting in. Maybe I should take my fat bike out for a ride in the snow.

After learning how to sculpt cloth, and purchasing a couple add-ons that for clothing for blender, this seems doable. It's beyond me at the moment.

I'm still working on the reclining Neptune figure. The body of the public domain Hercules model was mixed with the head of a public domain Neptune model. Then the model topolgy was cleaned up and a skeleton of bones added, which took many days. A trident was added and the loin cloth is next. If you look closely at the picture, you will see Neptune is as excited to get this particular model done with as I am.

After the skeleton is removed, sculpting tools will be used to reposition his left big toe, inflate some joints which got flattened in the bending process, and smooth some clefts here the polygon meshed got too pinched.

Neptune's sea eagle object is finished. This one took a bit of thinking to make. I took an eagle model, cut into pieces and used the sculpt tool to create the curled tail portion. Each model seems to have a diffrent approach in using the tools in Blender.

It's so small in the grand scheme of things...

Looks very good. In the original drawing, the beak appears to be hidden by one of the shrouds and might be a bit longer than an anatomically correct eagle.

The Sagittarius panel is finished today. This one took a lot of work with bones, reposing a centaur model that started as a low poly model. I refined it into high poly count, added a skeleton, re-posed the torso, legs and limbs, added a tail that was missing, and applied it to a scratch built background plaque. The model was then made thin by rescaling its thickness to appear more like a base relief, even though it is actually a full 3-D model. The model has better proportions than what showd on the engraving with regard to the arms and bow.
