Hello Heinrich....That is a good idea thank you. Certainly worth a try. CheersBeautiful simulation of the sheaves Grant. why don't you leave that "sheave" portion unpainted, just dab it with some Danish or polyurethane to make it slightly darker but to keep the definition?
Hello Roger. Thank you. Hope my log wasn’t too confusing with all the jumping around I do. CheersJust sat and read through your log while glue dries. You are doing some fine work Grant, impressive.
I wholeheartedly agree with you!I agree with you on the cannon rigging - not my favorite part of shipbuilding. I think it will prevent me from making a big ship like your Victory!
Hello Johan. The kit has no rigging on the carronades. I made the eyelets fitted on the base and loops with the thread to attach the poor blocks( Artesania Latina) I bought locally- same ones I used for the quarter deck cannons.. The metal work re hooks etc I’m not there yet.Morning Tyler,
Beautiful work, as always.
What I noticed though, was that there's no eyelet on the caronade through which one guides the caronade's rope
Is this an omission of the kit?
Kind regards,
Johan
Hi Paul...yep for sure. There should be a warning on Victory kits for beginners - next time I will build a tug boat.I agree with you on the cannon rigging - not my favorite part of shipbuilding. I think it will prevent me from making a big ship like your Victory!

As for the eyelet on the cannon itself(your reference) I did attempt to loop some brass 1mm wire but it was horrid. So I accepted mine and the kit limitations. Overall I’m happy with the look.
Thanks.
Thanks Johan- the only rambling on my log is Probably my ownHey Tyler,
It's sometimes trial and error with rigging; ropes, blocks, missing instructions and what not. And above all, the result should please you.
When you're happy with "the fruits of your labor", than that's what counts; the ramblings of a fellow builder can and must be neglected.
Enjoy your build,
Johan
