New forum feature How to Export Your Thread to PDF file

As long as any computer has adobe PDF reader there should not be a problem.
Just try it and see.

Thanks! This will let me make a back-up of the threads posted previously.

Its good feature. Exporting your thread to a PDF is easier than it sounds. First, select the entire thread or the specific posts you want to save. You can copy them into a word processor like Microsoft Word or Google Docs. Format the text neatly, adjusting fonts, spacing, and headings if needed. Once ready, use the “Save As” or “Download” option and choose PDF as the file type. Some forums also have built-in “Export to PDF” features—check for that in the thread options. This way, you preserve your content in a shareable, offline-friendly format. I recently tried a PDF redaction tool https://pdfized.com to manage sensitive information in my files. It made the process simple to remove confidential data while keeping the document clean and professional. Highly recommend for privacy-focused editing!

I tried to create the PDF on my Sovereign of The Seas 1637 build and got a PDF file with about less than half the photos showing in the file. For some reason it does not capture all photos althought the text is present. This was attempted on my new Imac M4 with the latest Apple update.

Any suggestions as to what happened would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Bill Short

Not the same, but a few off my already saved pdf builts withh ALL the images on it, one day, a couple of months ago, the images disappeared. Only the text are still in the files. These are 3 builts I am checking almost every day for my actual built.

I am not sure about if this plugin / add on is compatible among all browsers and especially Apple or PC.
If you are able to make a successful transition from forum to your PDF file, then SAVE IT.

Hi Donnie, in my case they all were saved and I opened them every day since I started my BR. Until one day, the images on 2 out of the 3 builts pdf files were gone.

It wasn't a big deal for me. Instead of using the pdf files to read through and search for images, I used the SOS threads, like in the old times. Nevertheless, when I read @modelshipwright posting, I decided to just comment on my case.

I have the files on my Galaxy Z fold 7 (launched on July). I think it is a software issue concerning some incompatibility between the "pdf reader app" and the newest phone galaxy software. Unfortunately I didn't pay attention if my issue happened after July when the new phone was shipped with the new software. Or if it started before July.

Files were all downloaded on May 25 and at that point I had the Galaxy Zfold6. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 runs with One UI 8 (based on Android 16), while the Z Fold 6 runs on One UI 7 (based on Android 15).

Best !!
Daniel
Ps: Could be I try to download them again. Will see :-)

Oh. Good point. You know, I forget about phones. Phones and Apps are in a different universe and there is no guarantee on how mobiles work. Even tablets and iPads

:-) Since I retired, and Samsung launched these foldable phones i have to remember to charge my Mac battery every 1-2 months. I stop using my Mac every day. Unless I have a very special task, all is done with my foldable. Size, portability and easy to use are great. As I am writing this, I have another live window open showing today's elections results, relaxed on my living room arm chair.... :-) .

Cheers and Thank you for keeping SOS working !!!

Daniel

In genereal we recomend using Windows for this feature and browsers like Chrome,Firefox or Microsoft Safari

This is probably dystopian and or heretical but if it is the author of a log that wants a PDF novella of their work there is a reverse way.
Use a word processor with advanced functions to formulate the log before posting it. Copy/paste to the website. I did this in Textmaker - with photos and all.
It would be a home preview. The RTF is 190 meg and the PDF conversion is 4 meg. I found a site that did the conversion for free. An advantage is that nonproductive 3rd party posts are not there to begin with. The flak has the reading of some logs feel like it is to be chopping thru a jungle using the blunt edge of a machete.
