Kingfisher 1770 1:48 POF

Hello Friends,

This build has entered the final stretch, and I am working on a few loose ends:

A safety chain for the rudder:

Some decorative carvings that flank the quarter badge along with a fish carving:

The main brace fixed block followed by the main sheet fixed block:

And a small stack of bars for the capstan:

The stern still needs a lantern, and I have also been designing a display base. My order of acrylic for the case should be arriving this coming week.

The finish line is in sight...
It’s all in the details, Paul. And these are a nice further touch-up of your model. For sure you will find some more …….
Regards, Peter

I am especially knocked out by the partial grating in the hatches! A tour de force touch in the 3D cutaway reveal!) Thumbsup Thumbsup
As I asked Chuck concerning his Harriet Lane, how about a comprehensive photo gallery of the finished model. Maybe with a little pertinent historical commentary.
I kind of feel a little let down by "Done and dusted. On to the next project..."
These wonderful models deserve a little final focus closure for all of us devoted followers.

Indeed. Every time I take a close look I need to add things to the punch-list.

A piece of art Paul
Thank you, Maarten. I'm happy with how she is turning out.

Thanks, Peter. The cut-away gratings are a bit more challenging than they appear but they do add a unique flair, don't they!
Of course there will be a final photo-shoot - just as with my other builds...

Wow, outstanding results on your figurehead Paul. The fastest study I've witnessed. Ok, you are now officially an "artist"! Well done!
Thanks, Ken. Overall, I'm not super happy with the final result but I'm learning!

Pawle praca na najwyższym poziomie, jest od kogo się uczyć. Pozdrawiam Mirek

Hello
Paul, your work is top notch, there's someone to learn from. Best regards, Mirek
Very nice of you to say, Mirek!

Good morning Paul. Wow,wow. The stuff legends are made from. Cheers Grant
Thanks, Grant!

Just amazing, from every angle your lens presents her!!

Wow, awed, enthralled, all come to mind when I open your posts. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much, Brad. The photos usually cause me to rework things, but in the end I have to say she's pretty photogenic.

Paul, the smaller carvings of the fish and sea serpents were a delightful surprise. Looking forward to the ships lantern.
Thank you, Daniel. They were fun and quick.

I can’t really add anything more to all the previous comments and posts. I’ll keep it short - absolutely incredible Paul.
Thank you kindly, Roger.

Good morning Paul, you're now entering the home stretch, and I'm looking forward to your final spurt. Your construction of the Kingfisher is phenomenal, my friend. It makes me a little sad that it's coming to an end soon, but I'm sure it will continue phenomenally with a new project.
Indeed. A bit sad myself. I was actually finding it hard to work on the model recently. My vision for the display base has motivated me a bit though, so I'm back at it again.

What a beauty!! I sit straight up and look at every photo. Very nice! Redface:p

Thanks, Sergey! The camera can be a harsh critic at times - but it is my habit to show my work in detail.
I also like to show the assembly process in detail. Sometimes even in great detail))) But I like to watch exactly this, that's why I try to describe and show it in such detail. And your work is always pleasing to the eye)
