Its bin since a few months that I have started the kit. But still after finding this great, very friendly and very helpful blog, I have decided to post my build. Next pictures just to show the way I have already behind me and next ll try to post every now and then the progress make.
And then coppering... although the kit did not had it as a feature. Amati copper plates 17x5mm. Then the paints used are according to the kits given colours, which represent the original pigments of 1779. The coresponding Vallejo colours were given to me from a gentleman within AL.
So now after 160 working hours -from beginning the build in.March- I have ended the coppering.
I used about 1000 plates, as the 1790 Ship, a bottle of acetone and 2 lemons to clean the plates from glue and finger tips, although I was wearing plastic gloves during this work. I also used up the kitchen nylon roll of my wife! (Used it to cover the finished coppering).
At the end the rudder with its pintels and gudgeons... you can see on the picture the greek words for those two items.
And ofcourse the false keel was left without copper sheathing, in order to allow the replacement of the false keel when needed
@zoly99sask its a kit from Artesania Latina.its not the best I ever had, but ok it has its plus and minus. Some materials, etche pieces and cast pieces are great... planking wood isnt, block and ropes am going to replace them, instructions are not bad either. Laser cut pieces are also well done.

@Snowy No that was Bounty. This is L'Hermione. French navy 18th century... took Lafayette to America as King Luis envoy to George Washington during the american revolution.
Working on the gun deck. Lining the inside of its walls and the insight of the gun ports.
Also the waterway, a harder reinforcing wood, connecting the deck floor with the wall. And ofcourse having a concave profile in order to drain the water at the scuppers.
Finished the gun-ports lining. There are 15 gun-ports on each side. The last gun-poet before the ship's stern had no cannon, it was a glazed window of Lafayet''s cabin(same on the other ship side for Lafayette's second). The first gun-ports on each side, near the cheeks of the head, are the bow chaser gun-ports (firing at pursued ships). Both have hinged port lids to avoid water from large waves entering the ship.
All the other gun-ports -when not in use-had a false lid.
I believe its a picture of the replica... but not on the ship... it must be a display somewhere in a museum. Ofcourse its a picture of the Association Hermione of whom I trust there scientific research an results
Planking the main deck. Finishing with highlighting the caulking of the planks with a pencil, as well as the plank nails. And finishing with two passes of a satin matt varnish.
