La Belle Poule 1780 by Thomas

A seemingly easy matter. Fitting the hand rails.

The middle rail is too short, but the bow rail is a bit too long. The frame was widened with a piece of scrap wood.

The filler wood will later be covered by the planking.

The contur is created by slowly pulling several times through the supplied decoration mold. A small laser burn mark is left so that the rail does not become too narrow. The rail is very fragile due to the many openings and can break easily.

The bow and stern rails shold mounted 1 mm away from the frames to accommodate the interior planking. A spacer strip was made for this purpose.

A trial fit.

And glued and weighted until dry. The port side lies loosely on as a paralel piece.

Now construction is stopped. We already going to Augsburg on Thursday, visit the sights and of course the Regional Meeting of "Arbeitskreis Historischer Schiffbau" :D on Saturday.

Best regards
Thomas
