La Toulonnaise 1823 - French schooner - Billing Boats 1:50

I thought about adding some extra masts for more sail power. ;)

This is a quick mockup of what to expect, so the extra centre holes I made are covered, of course the furniture will all be squared off and installed correctly when the time comes.

The extra holes down the sides with metal rings I have no idea in real life what they are for but they are supposed to be there, perhaps someone more knowledgeable can assist.

In the image above you can see the same deck holes down the sides.
I found f.e. this model showing these holes with some deepenings with a hugh ball at the "anchor cable" - very interesting detail

Sorry - no this ball is the deck opening (forgot the correct term already) for the anchor cable
the other visible holes are for something else - maybe scuppers..... I would need the drawings......

Thank you for the link, I hadn't seen that model.
This is my deck plans and confirming 2 extra holes to be added later for the anchor chains, I have already made the dome covers for those holes.

These are windows for lighting. I think so.
The only think I can think of is either fresh air vents, or as you say to let in some light but having holes to let in water doesn't make sense, pehaps in the real ship they aren't open holes at all.

With the ship being over 200 years old I think they would be just a glass window to light below deck rather than some sort of light for the deck.
I might look at adding some clear plastic rod cut to fit in the holes for F66 in the deck plan above to finish it off, something like these.

Unless there is another alternative not yet considered.

Ha - I found something

Take a look here in this book review

There we can find 18 photos of the museum model - I will take a more detailed look in short time
