LE ROCHEFORT - Harbour yacht from 1787 1:36 by Tobias (Monograph by ANCRE)

apparently there are slight translation errors that don't let me fully understand your question. maybe you can phrase it differently. I've seen the few pictures of you and your build looks great.

Hi Tobias
When cutting out the outlines of the individual pieces, I would use a bandsaw. I would then finish off the cutting by using a disk sander to follow the outline as closely as possible. However it it was easy to neglect the horizontal aspect of the pieces! Sometimes I would unintentionally leave a slight gradient, so when it came to join the pieces together one side may appear to be a good fit but there might be a gap on the opposite side. 70F535A9-D7D8-450C-8EA5-9F0801125350.jpeg

Hello Clogger,
yes I understand what you mean. To avoid this I mill my parts as much as possible. For cutting I use a scroll saw, inside radii are treated with the spindle sander and outside radii I sand with the disc sander, all straight surfaces are milled with the router. Here are a few pictures of the tools I use.

Looking good. I need an angle plate like that for the mill. Did you make it ?? I'll be going back to the keel sections soon after I cut the rest of the frames out. I have to get that rabbet and tapers correct.

Thank you Paul, however you have also done an excellent job with your Vasa.

Donnie thank you, well I have tried a few things and I like this version best. I have experimented a bit with black paper but I find it too dark and thick. Black marker (sharpie) works well but is also too dark.

Glad you’re moving on to the keel assembly. I can follow so I do it right ! I’ll use paper for caulking. I believe these parts will be nailed or
pinned for strength ?
