Not much hygiene on these vessels- Heinrich told me that the Dutch used this rope system but there is no evidence of the British doing so. The French I am not sure about- they probably had a tin of perfume there

Looking nice
Sanded the oars down and wrapped rope around where the oar meets the thole. I used the same technique as used when wrapping wooldings on masts. 
Now I need to research how to make tholes from the 17th Century. 
I think I’m done with the longer boat. At last!
And now, the smaller boat. Same process, just smaller with more severe curves and less room to work. 
I could use some help from your Anna on these. She’s great at planking those small boats! My Sandy only helps with sails.
A little tip: don’t try to sand the black char off the tiller of the small boat. It’s too fragile. 
At least she's still trying to take care of you. Is the pizza any good over there?
I'll just paint this tiller blue and stick it under the oars.

Good morning Vic- those are cool....they fit your Le Soeil fantastic. The oars and rope coil add detail and character in my opinion.
Building the tiny lifeboats is something I am delaying as they are a “fear factor “ to myself- well done. Cheers Grant
