There must be. But I don"t understand it. On Google you can search, I did but for me I only use serafill of Amann lockyarn. This is 120/2. The 2 stands for 2 threads the 120 for ......? But the thickness is 0,12 mm in diameter.Echoing Daniels words of praise. A great tutorial and well presented.
My problem with the thread: There are various sizes from Gütermann, and these sizes are not in mm. Is there a way to convert the thread sizes given on spools of thread to mm?
Trevor
Thanks @dockattner for helping with that explanation. The top chart came from Domminoff and I found the cross-reference Tex sheet off the internet. Helpful in cross referencing.@Daniel20 the tex code is not always mentioned. And what does it means.

Many thanks Dubz Modelling world. Now I have all the info I need.
Hi Stephan,
Googled around the internet, but to no avail. I wrote sometime ago to Gütermann but received no reply to my request for a conversion chart.

Good afternoon Luigi, which table are you looking forMany thanks Dubz Modelling world. Now I have all the info I need.

yes He is asking 2 different things. There are charts like the chart of Dominoff, Dubs modeling and I mentioning before. And the question to Guterman is about the thickness of yarn. What you can find on the Wiki page https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Units_of_textile_measurement And that is difficult to understand. The best is look to the charts of Dubs when you use Guterman. There he is telling the end result about the rope by different yarnsGood afternoon Luigi, which table are you looking for

Thank you very much for the useful and important information, I would love to apply it in the future.View attachment 285328
In this picture you see a mistake in the rope. In the middle the rope is not so nice twisted. This is because I stumbled about the dog. Yes maybe it was because of that. But the reason that this happens is that you go to fast with the separator on the walk when twisting the rope. That is what I mean with to build up experience. It will not give you the best result in one time. You need to practise. I spilled a roll of serafill (5 km yarn) getting the best result. So don't be ashamed when it does not work the first time.
okay, and where do you see how thick it is? I don't see that in the charts Only when you twist 3 threads to a rope 3x1 it is getting 0,48 mm. (Domanoff)For example, what is Gütermann skala 240 in mm diameter
Thanks Shota, but I don't sell. Especially I don't sell rope. It is a lot of work or time to make. The price would be to high making it on order like Ohla already told in her video. But I can always help when you want to start building a rope-walk and make your own rope. What is a nice episode to do in our hobby.Thank you very much for the useful and important information, I would love to apply it in the future.
Until then, I would be happy to buy if you have any left or want to sell
