I'll like this project when you stop using wood putty. I hate wood putty :rolleyes:ROTF So i like it anyway. Now find or spin a kilometer of rope on ratlines...

But its mahogany flavor so and full with good fibers (fiberglass fibers) ROTFROTFROTF so it's soooo easy to use and sand ...
Anyway I first need get confirmation about rigging all the ship with ropes and then i need to order the spools of threads .

I sympathize with you in choosing color of thread. Maybe one day you will find perfect one. Beige is not beige and brown is not brown. Hard life choices. "Hard".

Correct!
I bought 6-8 different small spools for the shades tryouts

I know, don't worry haha. If you find that one perfect color, next one you find will be even better. Just remember that if you choose wrong, it hurts a lot in the middle of work, its feeling that you don't want to continue or don't want to do it again from beginning, is very problematic. It's better to choose this color good and effectively. My perfect one, ever. Maybe...20231008_172848.jpg

Its Gutermann Mara col.263 "beige" for running rigging.
I try also col.697 "dark brown" for standing rigging, and col.999 "black" for tannin spots.

Interesting colors are also col. 696 "chocolate brown"and col.453 "warm beige" for cannons, and details rigging.
Also col.265 gold beige for standing rigging.
Problem is that the thicker it is, the more different color is, in different light color is different, and each spool from manufacturer is a different color...

Hallo Sevish,

Dankeshen
The kit is good and enjoyable
The materials in the overall are good and there are planty of materials so it's very good.

There are some issues with the design but with good hands and some planning head they are quite easy to fix.
For the guns that you get with the kit they are completely wrong and from the around the 15th-16th centuries.
So if you want more accurate guns you need to buy 3rd party guns and carriages.
In overall the it's good kit

Thank you for the info.
Currently for the testing i'm using sawing threads from gutermann.

IMG_1648.jpegIMG_1649.jpeg
but your colors looking good,so i think will also take them in consideration.
For the guns i'm going to use those
Ropes that i made already IMG_1629.jpeg

For the rigging i'm using 464
And for the breech line i will use 722

And i need to see from where to order the big spools...

Its Gutermann mara
So, because i'm from Israel it's hard to get what you really want and sawing stores around me doesn't really know what I'm talking about mara, e line , tex... and so on ...
So the only solution is to place an order from abroad.
The big problem is the only store in the net that do shipping to Israel in reasonable cost doesn't have the traditional 263 , 464 ect. colors in mara 220/150 only in mara120.

Nothing new. I have these threads in size 120tex, 70tex, 30tex, others are also not available to me. First i make 3x120tec from which I have a line of about 0.10 mm, then i take 3x0.10 mm and i have about 0.4 mm and so on. Or i simply mix them by size one more inside core. Sometimes i use other threads, e.g. Polish Ariadna talia numbering ash 0916, beige 0930, black 0799, brown 0772. These are similar colors. First, try spinning any waste thread with a TEX mix of whatever thickness you want.
