Not a shipyard yet, but soon will be...
The admiralty wanted this as a home office, but I was a bit sneaky about it, first renovated a smaller room downstairs, she liked it so much the home office moved in there and this got allocated to me!

I can't complain! This is the view from the window, summer is in full swing over here, so the days are idyllic!
I make so much dust and chips, there is NO WAY she'd ever have such activities in the house.....I'm in the woodshop (garage) where I can open the door and use the leaf blower to get rid of the dust ( and everything else that isn't tied down)....
Hello everyone Here I would like to introduce you to my new shipyard, it is not quite finished yet but you can already work in it. There is still a lot to do, but I would like to do this in the course of time, because as you probably know, planning and practice always look different. At least the basics are done.

Hello EJ the gray (thicker) line is for sucking off the wood chips.
Hi Kurt yes you are right all you need however the view from my window is not asoooo nice as Jolley Roger's it is just a basement window with a concrete wall but daylight comes in and that is nice too.

Attached find some photos of my workshop. It's not as neat as I wanted to show because I seem to find new projects even before ending one.
The shop is 1/2 of my garage and the shop half is insulated and has and electric heater. Overall the shop is about 16' X 24'. I have been making sawdust in this shop since 1997.
No end in sight!

Nice shop. Mine's in the basement so no sunlight streaming in the windows for me.
I also have a home-brew thickness sander (can't take credit--my Dad built it). It has a dust hood I added after the fact, but it didn't occur to me to add a linkage between the adjustable bed and the hood. After seeing yours, I've decided mine needs an upgrade.

Thanks for all the kind responses! The thickness sander was the result of combining bits & pieces from a number of articles I have read. Building the thickness sander reminded me of a saying that was commonly heard back in the 50's: whenever someone bought a new motorboat (full size), before they get home with it they already want one that is bigger & faster! I love my sander, but there are days when bigger sounds like better---
