New on your bookshelf ..... show it here

Good to have a bigger family.
When I counted correct, a mill from Admiral, other tools from son(s) and the books from daughter(s)
So you had a realy ship modeling birthday - brave man!
Hi Uwe. Your count is correct. Three daughters and one son, all happy and in good health and now at the age of 25 to 32. I count myself blessed.

This is a little Curio you don't see everyday. This card and envelope were attached inside the back page of the "Floating Baroque" book I recently purchased on closer inspection and to my surprise this happened.....

I tried to up load a video but it was too large for the format so will need to make do withe some pics...

You got two very important books - in my opinion some "must-haves" - so much information (mainly british ships) are included

Thank you. The local club has a great library, but I like to have some of my own and I'm getting a pretty good library of my own. I really like the "Anatomy of the Ship" series. I have several of them, but some of them are priced really high, like the one for the HMS Alert. :) I also really like the reference books on rigging. :)

Thank you for the link Stephen, I have pulled up a chair and will be watching your build progession with passion and excitement, this will be awesome to see a POF build of this.
I bought the book to give me some more research material for the Mamoli Friesland kit I recently purchased.

Arrived today: the 2 volumes of "The History of Sea Ordnance 1523 - 1875" by Adrian B. Caruana.

Volume 1 : "The Age of Evolution 1523 - 1715" (published 1994 by Jean Boudriot Publications)
Volume 2 : "The Age of the System 1715 -1815" (published 1997 by Jean Boudriot Publications)

This set of books should have comprised 3 volumes. Unfortunately the author passed away before he could complete the last volume covering the period of 1815 - 1875. It was never published.

Although these books, and especially volume 2, are quite expensive I was lucky to obtain the set of them at a relatively reasonable price. Volume 1 in very good condition, Volume 2 even as new.
