Furthermore:
While writing a book is never an easy process, giving that book a title is sometimes even more of a challenge, as the title should describe what is in the book.
The translation of a text is nowhere near as complicated as writing the original, but it is not an easy process either: some terms cannot be literally translated, but through the choice of words made, one can get an reference as to the content.
Some French terms do not have a proper or direct English translation: so using a more illustrative term may, for some, unfortunately make things a bit confusing: involuntarily.
Thank you for the work, I know it is hard for you to make easier for us poor English speaking sailors.
I what you are saying about not a direct translation being an issue, when I try Google Translate on Chinese kit instructions sometimes I get odd unrelated text out the translation, that makes no sense in regards to what accompanying photos shows being done.
I am waiting also for the release of the english version.
This is one of the three or four monographs, until now published by ancre, which are not reviewed until now here in our forum. I have the french version, but hope to get the english version until end of the year - let us see and cross the fingers - maybe we can read already something in the next update of the newsletter

In May 1781 Rochambeau wrote to the Comte de Grasse, Commander-in-Chief of the West Indian Fleet: "In the very serious crisis in which America finds itself at the moment, the arrival of Monsieur le Comte de Grasse would save the situation". On June 11, he wrote again "I do not hide from you that the Americans are at the end of their resources ... I am convinced that you will bring us naval superiority, but I cannot repeat enough to take the troops and the money too. … ”. Responding to this call for help, de Grasse, aboard his flagship, the City of Paris decided to concentrate its fleet and the troops embarked in the West Indies in the Chesapeake Bay and to surround Yorktown. This victorious strategy gave independence to the United States allowing the French navy to forget the disasters of the Seven Years' War.
This 480-page book aims to bring together maritime history and shipbuilding by first studying maritime strategy and tactics. The second part is presented as a maritime biography of the ships and frigates which distinguished themselves in this conflict by publishing as many original documents as possible.
20 frigates and 35 vessels are thus the subject of a special study, thus making it possible to renew traditional maritime history.

6) Didier Berti from ancre is selling some used books of his private collection LIVRES d'occasions - Used BOOKS
Sale of part of the personal collection of books on the navy. There is everything from a simple popularization book to a rare and original leather edition
Partly very interesting publications...... take a look
I think it will take some time, until Didier will translate the book - with 480 pages too big and too expensive.
Important here and maybe helpful, that if you are interested in an english version, to write a request to ancre and ask, if there is an english copy planned.
If Didier realize, that there is an interest, it could go faster.
But as I know for now, the translation is not planned for the next time period.

HMS Alert was never released by ANCRE publication, it was published by Conway press and Phoenix Publications (both English). By the way, the price of the book went skyrocket!!!!! I am wondering if this is the SOS influence as we advertise Triden's model. Check this out, a used book for more than $800.00
Le Coureur is published by ANCRE and available in English as well as other languages. Careful when ordering. When you select 'Anglais' (English) you will have a complete monography with plans. However, if you want just a book in English (no plans) choose a book in English only.
I hope to get back to building over the holidays. I am almost done with move to new house and then when the Admiral gives permission I will set up shop and start working again. Must keep management happy to keep budget in line for hobby work!
I am getting restless in trying to figure out what to restart first! A smaller project in workroom or move machines in outside shop and work on Blandford frames.

Today arrived at the same time "La Volage", the new calendar 2021 and some construction wood - safely packed but ice cold from the mail truck. The book is a gift from my wife and children and I am not allowed to open it yet!!!
In addition, I do not want to disturb Uwe's presentation in January.
