Nikitin San Bartolome 1584 A.D. (Kit #35)

Could be ,I am having trouble figuring out the construction of the mast and spars from the booklet, seems the steps are all over the place.Could just be me ......
I started with matching the flat and the mast/spar pieces on plan page #163, then worked forward. I assembled all of the pieces before any sanding, forming, etc. I did have a marathon session shaping all the spars, I've not attempted to shape the masts yet.

I'l see what I can do after a strong cup of coffee,I notice your from Main,I built the Bluejacket Portland kit a while ago and it turned out fantastic !

Hi Jan

Would you say every flat plate for the mast and spares constitute one finish item ?
I had to look back at the plans, starting with plan #163 it's like painting with numbers, each plan shows the masts or spar pieces and their numbers that need to be assembled. If memeory serves I stared with the main mast pieces and worked my forward plan for plan. The only odd piece I found was the bowsprit, I measured the diameter of the hole in the bulkhead to get the right number of pieces glued up. I hope this helps.

Ok I took a few hours this morning and the light went on,I just could not wrap my brain of the flow of the instructions and then bing everything got clearer, thank you.One more thing all the builds I've been studying seems the mast are round but looking at the full size plans a symbol shows to make them octagonal...any idea what it should be ? regards
