NORSKE LOVE - Billing Boats 1:75 scale

This is going to look like I’m finished with the stern…but I am not! I knocked out a lot of carvings, call me Carvin Marvin…lol. Then I added the cannon ports and doors, I did some painting on the railings (jewels red) and columns (black bottom center), and the flowers (center red) to help make the color scheme more cohesive.

I am currently working on the three lanterns that will go up top. I also have to finish some scrolls that go below the figures on each side. Then I have to add the cannon barrels. Also the name “Norske Love” on the back. Don’t know if I will carve it or paint it.

Update…I painted and assembled the lanterns for the stern. They always look so big IMO, but I suppose they had to be!
I got a little creative on the painting, but I like it…lol.

No lights, just painted yellow in the bottom.

I love Weldbond glue, very strong and dries clear.

The stern lanterns turned out really nice! In my opinion, they’re just the right size. I always make my own lanterns, and the results are far better than anything you can buy.

Update…another task completed and a few things changed…


There are 4 things that are different. Can you find them?

Side note… I replanted my Brazilian Rain Tree bonsai this year. It’s now 7 years old! And it’s doing very well!
Soon I am going to have to shape it.

lol...my bad. Here ya go:
1) I added the pedestals under the two large figures on each side.
2) I removed the antlers on the elk and redid them. (still not 100% happy, but improvement)
3) I added the red jewels on the upper surround carving
4) I added the bolt heads below the windows
