NORSKE LOVE - Billing Boats 1:75 scale

Finished the cats head on this side…installed the pulleys and painted it, then carved a tiny Lions head for the end. It’s about 5mm in size!
It is just sitting on the deck, not in the correct place against the rail because the paint is still drying! ;)

Wondering if I should paint the end face gold too, or just leave the Lion gold? Opinions?
It's proven again: Size does Matters! Very nice carving, Dean. With a nice contrast on the black.
Regards, Peter

Todays progress was adding waterway boards…
First to the mid deck cannon area…unfortunately had to be 10 individual pieces between frames.

Then I stained and clear coated to better match the deck…

Next will be the catwalk…which has to be planked…but eyes for the cannons need to be drilled and just pushed into place for now.

Also waterway board at the bow deck…

This one was already done to complete this side of the ship…

The other side, feeling neglected… :p

There is a support under the cat head that will be curved and tapered to join the bow rails. But that will be later. For now I left the wales too long to be trimmed later, at that point in the build.
I am almost done with this side. Just have to do cannon eyes, crosswalk and finish wale nails!

Dear Dean,
very nicet work, Those handmade scrolls are wonderful Okay :)

Well I had to finish this side already…too many other things ahead, but I have to repeat all this on the other side.
I finished the catwalk…glued it on the knees first, then planked it, stained and clear coat. Then added the side board to it, and finally added the outer lower rail and painted red, which will have a railing on it later.

Then I finished with the nails in the wales! ;)

This side is officially done, minus the rest of the cannon ports. Time to do all of this again on the other side!

Either you're a Photoshop expert or your build is just immaculate, I think it's the latter...

Thank you Johan! Cell phone pics...definitely not immaculate, but I give it a passing grade! ROTF
I hope to improve on some areas on the other side! Once that is done I can do a little more on the decks, like trim boards at the ends and the gratings. Then its time to get the Lion on the ship and do the rails at the bow. Those will be challenging!

As far as I'm concerned, there's no need for you to improve: you'll only put us/me more to shame...

….ahh I was wondering why the Lion was so quite. Will be good to see him again.

It may have taken you a long time to pick up the baton, but now that you have, you are flying along. the quality of the work is - needless to say - superb and bears your stamp of perfection. This is going to be a beautiful model when completed and she will surely take pride of place in your collection.
