Other hobbies that are not ship model building

Back when I had a steady hand and good eyes I would dabble in scrimshaw. I did this over 30 years ago and made several powder horns for fellow black powder shooters. I love going to maritime museums and looking at the great scrimshaw works.

Im big into pc gaming, I build my own computers and those all the kids / family game on. My latest obcession is a game called Atlas. You start out pretty much naked and gather resources to build yourself a small base, then a small shipyard, and progress into building ships. Its pirate themed and mostly an online multiplayer game, however Im having a great time in single player. I'll include a screenshot. I also do auto repair and home repair / remodelling. On days Im feeling ok Im always working on something it seems.

I am a wanna be semi-pro flight sim pilot. Currently mastering the A-10C Warthog in DCS (Digital Combat Simulations). I started life as a real pilot at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University back in 1977......... a whole nother life ago...

When I worked the flight line I loved running up the F4 Phantom. Even though they were tied down putting both engines into full afterburner was a thrill. The power was awesome.

I always wanted to be a fighter pilot growing up, alas my eyes betrayed me and I needed glasses by 8. You gents that got to experience that are so lucky, I wound up playing with toy tanks in a sandbox. Instead of souring with the eagles I drank with a bunch of turkeys :P
