Congratulations on this, Jan! Who would have thought oars would have been so labor intensive!

That is a nice ‘row’ of 30 oars, Jan. (If my counting is correct …….
Great accomplishment Jan, that's one area I'm not looking forward to.
Thanks, that little project depleted my sandpaper stash.Congratulations on this, Jan! Who would have thought oars would have been so labor intensive!
Yup, your math skills are right on. Thirty oars, thirthy oar port plugs, thirty rowing benches, thirty ........That is a nice ‘row’ of 30 oars, Jan. (If my counting is correct …….)

Indeed, although smaller there is a lot of work involved cleaning them up.Hmmm 1/32nd same regarding oars. Yours look great BTW.. at leat mine will be a bit smaller![]()

Yup, it was a bit of a chore, but the resulting product was a vastly improved amd more to scale set of oars.Good morning Jan. I really don’t like removing char so well done— they look good. Cheers Grant

Good morning Jan. Nice- very nice. It is a cool looking model. That is always the problem when we correct a kit - the knock on changes never seem to stop. Cheers GrantI've spent the last couple of shipyard sessions completing the small bits, fixing odds and ends, camouflaging mistakes, errors , etc.
Since I added the modified mast step and deck kit. I have a question.

By moving the mast step forward one section I've changed the rigging pattern.

The above (arrows) show the the cleats as per the rigging plan, With the new step in place should I redo the aft and forward cleats by moving them forward one section or leave them as is and do the rigging as shown on the kit plan.

Thanks I don't know why I didn't think of that (Cognative Process is not what it was). I have her Thesis saved as a PDF and will check it out.Jan, while I'm not there yet, it would make sense to me that anything connected to the mast should move forward with the mast - at least that's what I plan on doing. Here's a drawing from Dr. Bischoff's dissertation showing how she believed the rigging looked. This illustration should also be in her book, but it's not with me here at work to check.

Thank you for checking out my build log. I'm having a great time, learning new skills, making a lot of mistakes and earning "Re-Do" points.Wow, Jan, that is a very interesting build. It sure has its challenges. It is looking great!
