Hi Jagpilot. I can’t find the smaller profile shape that sits on top of the slightly larger shaped curved balustrade. It’s not on my plans either, did Pavel change this ?
If I remember correctly the plans just show it beveled. I made and added that top profile myself.
Thought it added another element to the railing.

Took a break from the ship to work on the ships boat. Being careful and light handed is the name of the game so as to not break any of the frames. I managed to break an I managed to break a couple frames, but was able to glue them back in place with no problems. Also neatness counts when gluing because a lot of the planking can be seen on the inside as well. Got the planking done on the port side. Be real careful not much room for error on the plank lengths. And the gunwale on port side bow definitely was to short. You can see whereIMG_1681.jpeg I used a piece of filler wood to take up the space. Should not be a big deal after it is dyed and finished.IMG_1683.jpegIMG_1684.jpegIMG_1686.jpegIMG_1687.jpegIMG_1685.jpeg

Like I said don’t be heavy handed and try to always support a frame with a finger from the back side so they don’t break. Meaning don’t hold the entire boat. Hopefully what I am saying makes sense
I think that part of the build will result in a series of deposits to my "Bad Word" jar.

The ships boat is done….aside from the oars. Used Pavels dyes. Patina, dark walnut, than oak for the worn areas and highlights. I than used the supplied danish oil. It was a fun distraction from the main ship. A kit in it self.IMG_1836.jpegIMG_1837.jpegIMG_1838.jpegIMG_1839.jpegIMG_1841.jpegIMG_1842.jpegIMG_1847.jpegIMG_1844.jpegIMG_1845.jpeg
