POF L'Amarante Corvette de 12 canons 1744 1:36 (Ancre Monograph- Gérard Delacroix) By Shota

good evening my dear friends

First of all, I would like to thank you, my lovely friends, for the kind words and compliments, the likes and smileys, it puts wind in the sails of the work:cool::D:)

today I finished to build the
main bitts and standarts and jeer-bitts.
I know that the brass parts should have been browned, but to my personal taste the original color has a beautiful combination with the wood, plus I like that the brass undergoes an oxidation process over time that causes it to approach the color of bronze. So I decided to let time and nature do their job. Another thing I made was two bundles of ropes and installed them in the lower rope storage.

Beautiful and accurate work!

I really like the way you cutout portions of those hatch covers! The curve is a very elegant touch.

Also, the use of different color wood is a technique I love. You have executed the contrasting wood very well!

Thanks for sharing! Prayers for you and your citizens.
Brad and Grant, my dear friends
thank you very much for your kind words and compliments.
Thank you very much for your concern for our well-being, I also hope that peace will prevail among all people.

I agree with Paul, you a growing with every update. I like this time your metalwork, it seems more in scale.
This is superb work, Shota. I have said it before...but the development of your skill as a modeler is inspiring!

Good evening dear friends

First I would like to congratulate us on the holiday of Purim in which we celebrate our salvation from an attempt to harm our people (About two thousand years ago) .

As part of the holiday, we usually distribute food to the poor and our relatives and dress up (similar to Halloween).

And now an update on the progress of work on the model (unfortunately, due to the war, I am unable to free up time for construction),

I have upgraded the upper deck of the bow. I decided to incorporate boxwood panels and refine the details/deck panels.

I am attaching a picture of the deck in the initial stage and then the result.

Wishing us all peace and tranquility

So cool! Nice job, Shota

Hi Shota, the deck looks nice, just a few comments:The main bitts have notches on the bottom that fit into the notches in the deck beams. This means that the main bitts cannot lie on the deck, but the deck is installed around it (but you can still adjust that). And the middle deck planks are a little higher than the other deck planks.

Many original contracts describe the exact thickness and scoring onto the beams of the thicker binding strakes but no mention of the king plank thickness and how it was set. Does anyone have information based on contemporary sources about the thickness of the king plank and if it was ever scored down or if it always stood proud of the adjacent strakes. The hunt goes on!! :)
