Re: Royal William 1/48 scale

Just about to close up the last of the lower gallery windows,

655.jpg
but before i did i painted a figure and glued to the gallery floor,

656.jpg
and then attached the window frame, looks pretty rough at the moment but once i attach a lot of the bling and gild it,
it should hopefully look a lot better,

,

657.jpg
next job was attaching the mouldings for around the stern galleries, I bought some brass mouldings from Cornwall
model boats, these are the Caldercraft ones, you can get them in three profiles, this pic shows me bending the brass
to go around the gallery,

658.jpg
I was hoping to be able to attach them with just super glue but I had to use some fine brass pins as well, I turned the
ship upside down to attach these,

659.jpg
I inverted these next three pics so you can see them better,

662.jpg
and a daytime pic, she looks entirely different,

.

663.jpg
Next was the stern upper window frames, I made a decision to make them square shaped like the ones on the
Royal George, so there will be a bit of cutting filling and sanding to be done, these two are for the starboard side,
i make them up as a strip them cut them off,

664.jpg
and with the two for the port side,

665.jpg
and after sanding,

666.jpg
this is an inverted pic showing two frames attached right up at the poop deck,

667.jpg
and how the ship is sitting upside down on the work bench,

thank you for dropping in,

best regards john,

These are some of the cast pewter figures that i have decided to
use for the stern decorations, the figure on the right is as bought
and on left after trimming down,

672.jpg
the same two figures but the one on the left has been sanded back
so that it will sit flush on the transom, I attached them with CA super glue,

673.jpg
after four figures have been attached,

674.jpg
and a few more,

675.jpg
close up of the port side figures,

676.jpg
and a couple of daylight views,

677.jpg
still lots to attach yet, thanks for looking in,

best regards john.

I've bought something new for my Royal William,

683.jpg its a small serving tray,

684.jpg
close up view,

685.jpg
Cost $2.99,

686.jpg
This is where I am thinking of using it, across the back of the galleries,

687.jpg
Closer look so you can get an idea of what i mean, of course it will be attached with the rounder side facing out, will do a little bit of trying out to see if it fits OK,

thanks for dropping in,

Best regards john,

Catching up and doing a bit on the Royal William,

687.jpg

these lovely little parts came from a womens necklace, I just have to cut the rings off,

688.jpg
and this is where I will use them, I have to paint and gild the galleries first,

689.jpg
now its back to the serving tray,

690.jpg
and this is the part I'm interested in,

691.jpg
I cut the sides from the tray and trimmed them to the depth I wanted, I cut a slot along some timber for the side to sit in,

692.jpg
and with a top attached,

693.jpg
just showing where it will be attached,

Thank you for looking in,

best regards john,

I keep saying that I absolutely love your creativity and ability to find suitable parts out of jewelry and all other things available at your disposals. :)

Thank you Jim, I really enjoy searching through the Op shop's etc for things to use, at the moment I'm keeping my eyes open for a name plate with Formidable on it, only joking Jim, thank you for following my build
Best regards John,
