Hallo Nigel,Very nice start Stefan.I have worked with English boxwood, in fact the upper planking of my Sots is modelled in this.I remember one new no.26 blade per 2 gunports because the timber is so hard.
Kind Regards
Nigel
Hi Christian, I've been collecting for about 30 years. But when cutting the logs into boards, you have to reckon with at least 50% waste. thus you need a large amount of it to be able to build in the 48 scale. What a nice timber. I wish I had such a stash and to store this wood.
yesAnd the rabbet is perfectly straight!
Thank you for the information

Hi Nigel,Hallo Nigel,
dsuring my last personal meeting with Stefan, he was telling me, that he needs every x frames (I think 5) a new blade for his bandsaw
hello Willi, I would like to take the carved figures with me at the next meeting. With so many good conversations that are being held and great models that you see again and again, it can happen that you are distracted in a positive sense. It's a really great group of model builders in Vienna. I'll be happy to send you the photos of the fuselage construction, best regardsHi Stefan
by our last meeting you don`t show us the two birds you carved and I missed the pictures of the framed hull.
Best regards
Willi (schifferlbauer)
Dear GeorgeWell, now the time has come, the journey through time into the past ends with the following photos.
With the new pictures we have arrived in the present.
They show the condition of the model today.

Hello Shota70,Dear George
you are doing amazing work, great progress. Where did you get such quality boxwood
I'm just jealous of you, for the summons of this raw material for you, In my country not even a branch of this tree can be found.Hello Shota70,
progress is very slow. Construction began in 2019, my motto is "The journey is the goal". Working with boxwood is very demanding, especially when sanding. I'm a head gardener by profession, which gives me the opportunity to collect this wood. however, I have been collecting for this model for 27 years. My experience with this is that about 50% is lost when cutting to boards. So you need a lot of boxwood at a scale of 1/48. I only use boxwood from Austria.
