Little update. Couldnt Do much last days. Had 8 heartritm attacks in 3 days. 1 attack stands for a marathon run so had 8 marathons in 3 days. Lost confidens in body now so gonna start again with practice going out the Door again. Slept a lot because of exaution. But here are some pictures of the progress. Have also to thank my wife for here patience because it is also scary for here these attacks and waiting for my recovery after the atack. And still Let me build to calm down a bit.need to cut and sand this side but started the other side with planking and then make the cannon ports. I ordered metal ones from 13 byou 13 cm. scary stuff Brother I have attacks of ventricular tachycardia Spelling? those start by a hard bump in my heart then I feel my heart stop and everything goes black as I start to pass out only to all of a sudden I'm coherent again and my heart is racing. I have been in A Fib in the past had to be shocked to regain both Atriums. that was scary, but I can live with A Fib. if I had to and I did for 2 weeks as I didn't realize the palpatations I was having was from that. The V-tac I cant because the ventricles stop. This all started when I had 2 stents installed from of clogged arteries. I have 2 internals clogged that will eventually give me trouble and require open heart surgery so every time I have a Vtac event I worry it will be the last. Take care of yourself and do things at a pace your ok with that ship wont ever get built without you doing it and we will all be here when you ready to get back at it.
 
Tnx all. Building empties my head. Its Just the fun of building not the speed.normaly i use powerglue for planking. This is the first time with contact glue and nails. I tried the white wood glue but that makes the wood strips as soft as card board. Destroyed 2 nailpushers already because the nails wont go deep into the wood. Tried several sizes of nails also brass and Iron ones but they all bent when i push. Anyone has the same problem?
 
What color shoud i paint the cannons. See golden cannons on all the felipes on Internet but think black is better.

Do you drill the hole before? Maybe this is one solution, often it is helping......f.e. If your nail is 0,8mm thick you can use a drill slightly smaller, f.e. 0,7mm. With this the nail should go into the wood without bigger problems.
Does your model have two layers of planking or only one?
When you soak your strips before in water, for easier bending, than I would not use iron nails - here you have the risk of rust on your planks.......
Related to the cannons: the golden ones you can see are like out of the box, usually in brass, so therefore the colour. In reality the cannons were black or a dark grey - take a look at the very informative topic about cannons from didit he made 2 months ago......you can paint the brass with some black colour, or you can also blacken them, which gives the cannons an additional realistic appearance......

Tnx for reply. I enjoy everything about the build. Went out twice today but not far. Building and half hour and then rest. But the felipe and trinidad and wilhelm keep asking for more wood and glue and nails. Cant ignore there sweet calling to long.......
 
Little update. Closed the hull with first planking. Still have to sand it. Made a panel with doors. Its way in the back. Gonna work my way up now with planking but have to pay atension that a dont use to much glue on the hullformers because i have to cut them away after the first planking is finnished. After that i can start planking the decks. And making cannon ports. Healt still not to good. Still not going outside. Tnx for watching.
