Bussy to rework on the stern. Didnt like that the windows are as big as the Door in the middle. So made a little piece of wood for the underside of the Windows so that they look smaller. Put a piece of brass on it. With the 2 pieces of decks of the stern is another problem. The rail is as high as the underside of the deck above when its installed and completed. On the drawings you have wooden pieces between the ones of plastic rail.also it says you have to bende the plastic with an hammer. As you can see it doesnt work. It breaks into pieces.on the drawings it says its brass. So now i use a lighter to warm and bend it. I am goingto extend the lower deck so the rails can be fitted and the decoration figures that come on top of the rail have room to learn a bit back so they fit between the rail and the upper deck.
Couldnt walk for almost 5 days. Infected muscles in my foot. Today was little bit better so could spend some more time in shipyard. Glued the plastic pillars on the stern. Have to shape the outside but first in glue the wooden rail on top of the pillars. Bend the wood with hot woodbender. Also had to heat almost every pillar before glueing. So lot of pillars to go. Made also 12 mermaid castings to put on top of the rail. Didnt like the plastic figurs have to sand and paint the mermaids gold. Tomorrow in hope if foot will Let me sit without pain. Have made the 12 castings in 1 clay mold and still the mold is in good shape.

Still working on the Stern. Not all is glued yet. Its almost time to fit the mermaids and the rest of the decoration. Also made couple of cannonports.
Its hard to correct the plastic pillars of the rail. Had to heat them to bend but now some of them are melted and cant do anything about it because by the second time of heating the pillars shrink.so have to leave it as it is. Never gonna use plastic pillars on a strip. Only wood or Iron. Gonna look if i can make little castings to cover it.
Does anyone has a solution for painting the word felipe? Wanted to make them blue but instead the letters are on top of the decoration the are inside. Cant get it done nicely with painting.
I would paint the letters blue (as you want). Because they are inside if paint gets accidentally outside, you can use a 'Steel wool' to clean excess paint outside.
Worked bit more on the stern. Not all is gluedyet. Little nails holding the decoration. Its all plastic. Bussy to make some castings of tin to replace the thick plastic ones on the hull and handrails.
Tnx. Next boat i want to build must be without plastic decoration. This ones are some thick and you have to glue the 2 parts together to get 1 decoration piece. But it fun to play with the tin.
G'day Pat
I'm amazed at how for you have gone in a short while. Your workmanship is absolutely magnificent.
Sorry for not dropping in for a few weeks, been busy to house renovations etc. I have made heaps of sawdust lately, but sadly not on my model, but for the house.
Keep up your incredible work mate and stay healthy.
