Santiago De Compostela 1540 [COMPLETED BUILD]

Gunports

When I designed the framing, I should have taken into consideration the triangular shape of the gun ports above the lower gun deck, using a pattern and scroll saw to cut the openings in wood blocks inserted in the framing would have been a better method on construction. Scratch building is a constant learning process.

These photos show the method I used to cut the gunports; it was not easy cutting through the frames lol.

Hello everyone! I really liked this magazine-assembly ... In general, I like POF, the laboriousness is large, but the labor expended pays off. I liked it very much! What about sails and rigging? I will wait for the continuation! All the best and creative success! Egor.

The stern bulkhead:

The stern bulkhead sits directly behind the main mast with a pin rail on the quarter deck. The quarter deck is lined with Myrtle wood. Progress photos
