Hope you enjoy the kit Terry. If you have any questions let me know, I'll try to help if I can.thanks mike. I just ordered this kit from zhl. I hope my kit comes as fast as yours did. they said delivery would take from 8 to 21 days to niles ohio. cant wait to see more of your build log. you gave me some good ideas for my build. keep up with the great work.terry
Welcome to my first time attempting a build log. I ordered the kit from ZHL and it arrived in 8 days to the US.
The kit was well packaged for shipping and arrived in good condition. The kit looks to be very well made and the building materials are excellent. The English instructions are good and plans will be more than enough to get it built.
Thanks for looking.
Mike

Hey Terry I sent you a PM.hi mike just got a reply from ebay and the refunded my money. did you have any problems with them? which seller did you buy your kit from? hope you can help me out to get my kit
Thanks Jim, the breeching rope is their. The rope goes through the carriage. It was common for French ships of that time, the rope didn't come around the cascabel. I seen this on a post from Mr. Delacroix on another site. He posted this amazing picture. She is coming really nice with those cannons in-place! The only part is missing - the breeching rope... I guess this is to follow?
Hi Terry, thanks. The clips are binder clips that you can get at OfficeMax. The 3/4 inch clips seem to work best. You just take arms off a clip and slide one through an opened clip. You waste a clip to make 2 good ones. A box of 12 was a couple bucks.hi mike, planking looks great. just wondering where you got your metal planking clips. I ordered some like yours ,but the metal piece that hold down the planks was real flimsy. it was just a thin strip of metal. thanks terry
Thank you Maarten, I appreciate the complement. Yes I used Tung oil. In a couple of the pics you can see where I tested a section with clear varnish, and the tung oil starts. It was a huge difference. This part is getting covered up so it was a nice experiment.Great work Mike. Love the wood colors on the hull. Oiled?
Hello all, a few pics on what I have been up to. Worked on the Port side rail and decorations on the balconies. I put on a wash on the gold paint to highlight some of the details of castings. I think it looks ok a different look than shiny gold.

I also finished guns that are going to be covered by the quarter deck. I need to get the quarter deck installed so I can finish up the rail on SB side. Im not sure on the scale of the guns. I believe they should be 12 pounders on this deck but I think these are a little big. I’m not real happy with the blocks I ordered they are 3mm. The size looks ok but shape of blocks is a little lacking.

Well I think things look ok but rigging at this scale is tuff, takes some time but kind of enjoyable. That’s it for now thanks for stopping in.
