Hi Pat! Yes the castings are iron. White metal I believe you would call it. They are fairly detailed, I think a little thick but with some work will look pretty good.
I hope you get to feeling better soon. Sounds like you have had a rough go lately. Hang in there bud.

Hi Jim. You can contact him on the ZHL web site. www.modelshipbuilder.com. I believe he is a member of the forum also now. I purchased my kit off eBay. I was hesitant of ordering direct so I spent a little more for shipping going eBay but next kit I would buy direct. From time of my order to delivery was 9 days which I thought was pretty good.

Super smooth planking m8! Keep it up. Is this a good kit with wood and carvings? Have to use lot of my own wood because of bad quality or not enough wood from the kit. Also plastic carvings break easy when i get them out the sealed plastic. Wanted to by your kits next but have to think about it now
