Sussex 1693 navy board model

Hello everyone a quick update on the Sussex navy board model, I finished the limber strakes and I milled up some wood for the interior work,deck beams, upright posts, ledges, decking and more, I laid out the mortises for the gundeck clamps and milled them out on the mill, I also put a little steam to the front 2 to get the bend nice, I have made a little measuring jig for the gundeck beams and I have snapped a line down the center to keep everything centered, now I will be cutting deck beams and putting a finish on the bottom 1/4 of the ship, I will keep you posted along the way, thanks

I'm loving your build log. Your frame construction, clamping with the all-thread (see photo 1) and even the two frames that slightly separated (see photo 2) are exactly what I came up with/happened, for my 1st scratch build.

I look forward to following your solutions to all the inevitable issues that come up with a scratch build.

Hello everyone I'm finally getting started on the Sussex, started resawing the cherry, I'm going to try to keep you posted along the way, I can't believe my little bandsaw works pretty good, I have a 14 inch in the garage that I am setting up, but just goes to show what is possible with small tools, set them up right & take your time & anything is possible..... hope you all have a great day

Hello everyone it's been a long time since my last update on the Sussex 1693 navy board model, I apologize for that,well I have made the upright posts that go under the gundeck beams and I have made some moldings from boxwood on the table router with a mini ball nose bit, I have finished the outer planking in cherry wood and have steam bent the upper whales also made from cherry and dyed black with black ink, and I have done both sides of the ship, I'm in the process of treenailing and the pencil sharpener works great, I am buying a dodge challenger rt in the next 2 weeks and this is so I can spend some quality time with my family and friends this summer and many more, I will keep everyone posted along the way, after my hiatus, thank you everyone...

Yes that is a cherry fence on my table router, I kind of invented the linear rail sliding fence, I still have to make a proper aluminum fence that is adjustable, but I think the sliding fence will come in handy doing miniature finger joints and things, LOL ..
