These ships are so full of details, which kept changing every time they came to yard for repairs and upgrades of equipment.
Well this has thrown a spanner in the works !
I noticed when unpacking my 3D printed upgrade parts, that there was a sticky residue over everything. When I started to remove the ships funnel from the sprue, I had liquid resin pour out from the base of the part. What a horrible mess.
i have contacted the vendor about this, so we shall see what happens.

if hollow & sealed then drain holes should have been made in the funnel's base with vents in the grill at the funnel's top. so any other 3d printed object that do not have those holes will most likely have some liquid resin in it/them. parts are most likely salvage able but will wait till you hear back from the vendor.
Good news. The vendor that sold me the 3d printed upgrade parts has agreed to replace the ships funnel with another one. Although I could probably have salvaged the original piece, I was not keen on cleaning up the sticky mess.
Been at the workbench today. Assembled 3 cranes, and multiple guns. I am very pleased with the fine detail of the parts, but my photography skills are rather average.

A small update on my build. I have assembled the turrets with metal barrels and the aftermarket 3d printed blast bags. I added some photoetch ladders as well. I have to say, the fitment of the blast bags was terrible. I had considerable difficulties with them. I had to trim and file them to fit the turrets. I do think they are superior looking to the kit supplied blast bags.
In addition, I assembled the aftermarket 3d printed floatplane. This is rather puzzling as I only received one plane and one catapult. Looks like the plane is a Sc 1 seagull floatplane, not like the kit supplied kingfisher planes.

the ship had 2 catapults, 1 ontop of turret 3 & 1 on the main deck between turret 4 & the stern airplane crane so which catapult is the 3d version? does the model kit come with 2 catapults & 2 kingfisher aircraft & if so can you post pictures of them?

yes the kit comes with 2 floatplanes and 2 catapults. My aftermarket 3d printed set only comes with 1 plane and 1 catapult. I have contacted the vendor of the printed parts and asked for another plane and catapult.
