USS Constitution - Model Shipways

Did the 9 yards count those on the bow or just masts on the ship? Another old term where the origians have been long lost.
well i was planning on putting sails on the bow as well as the stunsel sails.
I thought the 9 yards came from football.

So I was looking at the Model Expo site for some things and I happen to notice that the price of the USS Constitution is now over 1000$ Cdn. Wow. I bought mine for 500$. What the heck happened?
I agree the prices are out of hand. I did find a new model shipways constitution on Ebay for $607

Well after doing some googling, I found the supposed source of "the whole 9 yards". During WWII American fighters had 50 Cal machine guns in the wings. The size of the ammo boxes for these allowed 27' length of ammo belts with bullets, so when asked how much did a pilot shoot, he would sometime reply, I shot the whole 9 yards! or simple math, a yard is 3' x 9 equals 27' total.

They must be having troubles with raw materials. That is what I think
Every ship on their site is on "SALE"
With expensive cost crossed with a line and new "cheaper" price that probably higher then the original one.
Any holiday is on the horizon in the US or Canada?
If it was rise in material costs I would expect some fair notice about it, and not the sneaky way of rising the products prices.
Or they just became greedy with the success of the Agora USS Constitution model...
