If I can ever find someone to help me post the pics..I'm a 77 yr old technomoronI would love to see how that turned out.
Now take the 1/16 strip and lay it perpindicular to the blade along the top fence. Can you then cut little pieces off that strip anywhere from .09" to .24" long?I cut two narrow strips, one about 1/16” wide, from a piece of 1/64” ply this evening using my guillotine paper cutter. It sliced them cleanly with little effort.

My go-to as well. I was warned several years ago that the plastic Dremel drill press wasn't accurate, but I've used mine for all sorts of sanding, drilling and thicknessing like this. Just give it sufficient guides and it works like a treat, even for small routing jobs.Ahaa! I made a thickness sander using a Dremel drill press and a drawplate for the back gauge. Cut the wood strips a bit thick on a small table saw then ran them through this gadget for final thicknessing. This redneck rig also holds tolerances around a thou. There are many ways to skin a cat like this, unless you don't want to mess with equipment!![]()

I’m glad it’s working for you. I was unable to tune mine to be perpendicular to the bed, and there was always slop in the action. Much happier with my Proxxon press. My go-to as well. Roger may have better sources, but if you Google "aircraft plywood" a lot of suppliers, including Amazon will come up. For Amazon, there are dozens of choices including for 1/16" https://www.amazon.com/s?k=Aircraft+plywood+1/16"&crid=15S6C3LPJVMFU&sprefix=aircraft+plywood+1/16+,aps,240&ref=nb_sb_noss_2 Next day delivery for Prime members. Thank you Geoff Bezos!Do you have a source?
You want me to send the strips to you? You can make the 700+ cuts needed for the rib stiffeners. For cross cutting, I’d just use a pair of ordinary scissors.
Sometimes I/we forget building a model is more like running an F1 road course with slow spots and a few fast moving spots, not a 2.5 mile high speed oval like Indianapolis Speedway where the speeds are always high. Our hobby is better suited to the tortoise than the hare. You can make the 700+ cuts needed for the rib stiffeners
Yes I do that to, first I build a cutter like the Micro Mark but in this way you get great cuts and precise. I use theseAnother way to cut your pieces from a strip. Lay your strip on a hard surface. Place a single edge razor blade across the strip. Tap it’s reinforced back with a hammer.
