The galleries are then covered with strips of wood painted red
Next I built the cannons so that I would have the correct position to drill the holes in the bulwarks. After the holes were drilled the ornamentation were glued to the outside

The inside of the bulwarks are now finished with 2 by 2mm uprights. 1 by 4mm strips are attached to the upright strips and the top railing is then attached to them 
My attention now turned to the hatch covers. I think I spend more time thinking about how to do stuff than actually doing it. I spend most evenings looking at other peoples build logs of the Wasa thinking about what’s upcoming It’s kind of like a chess game you have to think several moves ahead.

I have one comment, which you should change:
Your gun barrels are sitting wrong on the carriages - the pins of the barrels should be lower than the longitudinal axis of the barrel.
This is the situation now:

Can I have a lot of extensive questions?
1)So from what I understood basically in modeling you are doing double planting. Firstly you used some kind of pins to hold them in place till glue dries. Also you used mastic and smoth it wit Than you have second layer of planting - first is basically some kind of reference and if don well the second should be easier. But how you hold this second planting till glue dreis? i did not see any holes after pins.
2) the holder od dummy cannons was included in building kit? Are there any kits where you are buil
3) Is the deck planting made by actual nails?
Or did you use pencil for draving of nails and then covered it with some transparent lacquer? How it is that the wood is looking so real?
4)What will you do with stains from dried glue?

I made a cardboard cutout of the contour of the bow of the ship and then made four of these. Starting the bow and ships head
The deck is made From strips of Tanganyca. The edges were rubbed with graphite pencil lead so that they mimic tar. Then the “nail holes” were put in with a very sharp hard pencil.
I read on Someone’s blog that you should never sand your deck But you should scrape it with something very sharp like a piece of glass so that’s what I did kind of gives it a rough weathered look. After that I gave it a light coat with linseed oil

Unfortunately the cannons are use came with the Corel kit and they were pre-drilled there’s not much I can do about that.

Progress on the Bow. Doesn’t look like much but Many hours went into this so far. Many hours of thought went into this also. It’s a good thing that there’s blogs for model ship building because without it I don’t know if I’ll be able to do anything every once in a while you kind a look at the instructions just to see if you’ve missed something but for the most part his instructions are pretty useless. Bend fit and glue, or assemble and glue are common instructions. I would just like to give a huge thank you for other people that have built models and posted because without them these would be very humbling.

Question 1 it’s really important to get the first planking right and yes it’s pinned in place and after the glue dries the pins are removed and then sanded and filled where necessary for the second planking. For the second planking I use shorter strips about 80 mm in length. This way they are easier to apply. I also use a medium to thick CA glue to attach these. And just hold them in place until the glue sets which is pretty fast with CA glue therefore I don’t need to pin them in place. Using shorter strips also makes the fitting easier also.
Question 2. Corel has holders for the supplied dummy cannons. Makes it real easy actually. Another kit I built previously you had to glue blocks in place and hope for the best to put them in the right place it was an older kit from the 1980s and it was really tough

Question 4 Haven’t quite mastered this one yet you try to be careful and not get any glue or it’s not supposed to be that sometimes doesn’t happen are usually just finish with either a stain or just linseed oil and when you put it on you can sure tell where the glue is. You just Gotta do your best and either send it off or scrape it off once I get a bit farther and almost completed the decking part before I had masts etc. I’ll go over the entire model and spend a couple days just cleaning it up getting rid of the excess glue etc. sanding and scraping
And thanks doing quite well after surgery it’s been just about three months now almost back to normal probably 80%

OK, but you can easily change it without drilling the barrels - you have only to turn them by 180 ° degrees along the longitudinal axis

First I covered these pieces with strips of wood and painted red then completed the rest with outside strips of walnut. The inside facing where also completed and then top railings where also installed.
