current build images Your actual Ship Modeling Project - briefly introduced at a glance -> present it here

Thanks. I don't like painting or staining or even varnishing. I now it is supposed to protect the wood and all that, but this particular kit used variety of woods of different colors and that is what I wanted to see.

I have since corrected this and I actually completed the model. I don't have access to good photographic equipment so I took out my old phone and here is the completed model.

A nice completed Le Mirage. I like the clear looking wood. Almost like mine, just with clear varnish.
Regards, Peter

Hallo Dirk alias @Dubz Modelling World
we wish you all the BEST and a HAPPY BIRTHDAY

My current build is a MANTUA ARM-82. Dutch Fishing Boat.
Now, there are two versions on this particular model. The “Old” and The “New”, and thanks to EBay I have both.
So I thought that the new revised version was up to date with the new laser cut parts and the hall shenanigans so I started to build it but wile I was doing this I said to myself: “Let me compare the old with the new kit and my light bulb light up.

The conclusion to my findings is: The old kit is a 1000 times better and bigger and more accurate than the new simplified version.
I stopped the build with the new kit and started with the old kit.
Soon I will open a building log for it.E192D2C6-7B49-4678-9489-724E607A4B4B.jpeg
This the old kit I got from EBay for like $40.00

This the new one. Payed $140.00
If someone is interested in the new version, Inwill let it go for $80.00 shipping included.

This is how far I have done with the Old kit.1AA3FB34-6A65-4660-9EB0-65350F42119B.jpegDDFF220E-3FD5-4B6D-AB9B-47DCD86D6FE5.jpeg60C8F8DC-69AB-4DD0-8B53-0D6DA0D732E9.jpeg
This will be the final results.

Just want to make it clear, this is not my model, I hope my looks better with better sail colors.

My 1st project - Rescue the HMS Victory

This is my 1st ship build , a Revell Victory kit that I put together without any real thought or prior experience. The plastic sails got broken and are now useless . I aim to redeem myself by doing a decent pair job . Priming done today , couple bits fell off ! I'm going to start painting her methodically next week. As for the rigging , it fills me with dread !

Many thanks for looking

Le Rochefort (port yacht)1787. My first attempt at a scratchbuild ship and plank on frame. Still much work to be done. What made me try this was the excellent instructional book available by Adrian Sorolla, and of course the amazing plans available by Gerard Delacroix and the French publishers Ancre.
Some people have made or are making an incredibly accurate version of this ship, but, hey, I’m having fun along the way.
The wood used is mostly Cherry, and the deck planks and some fittings are Castello boxwood.

I'm building the IBG 1/700 scale Royal Navy destroyers assigned to the Polish Navy in World War Two. So far the three Hunt class destroyers have been attempted. There are four models because I repeated ORP Krakowiak ( front and rear) after research showed some flaws in the model. I also added metal gun barrels, PE doors, brass mast and got a little more ambitious with the rigging.

Dear friends,

you do not want or you are not able to make a complete Building log - f.e. not enough time or by other reasons......

Every model is worth to show - even without a detailed building log

There are a lot of members out there, which would be interested to see on which project you are working

This topic is for everybody who wants to show his/her project,
in between status or finished,
kit - scratch - plastic - card - tooth-sticks ......
complete view or in detail
-> with one or even more photos

Share your project with us and show your model in one post inside this topic

Please write only some words about the model - f.e. name of original ship, scale etc.....

Many Thanks in advance

BTW: You can also show your model, if you are already making a building log - than please add a link to your log
Here is my Bluenose II "build log". I started this build on June 4th. This is my first build. I added the deck by slicing a very thin - I guess it was a veneer? I sanded it down. I will fix the bow. It's not broken. I am just figuring out how to make it curve. I will also fill in the area under the stern where it curves to a point.

Current Model Build is "Half Moon" by Corel, 1:50 scale. This build was started prior to the year 2000, has survived many moves and was patiently waiting for my retirement, which was more than three years ago. Unfortunately there is no build log or photos of prior work performed.
My first build was a Mamoli kit "Hunter" which I actually completed in the late 80's. I'll provide photos at some later date. This is my third hull build, the second being a Mamoli kit "Enterprise" which suffered along with "Half Moon" in storage. I digress...My hope is to complete the "Half Moon" build this year. Life has a way of shifting priorities. I'd keep my fingers crossed but I need them to work, lol.
