YQ Bluenose by Johan [COMPLETED BUILD]

I hope to get back to my YQ Bluenose soon, as it seams like such a long time since I worked in the Old Ship Yard, have been thinking about it quite a lot lately but that is as far as it gets as Peter races ahead with his very interesting build, putting me to shame.
Regards Lawrence
For sure, that's one of the things I miss, being able to work on my Bluenose. On the other hand, it allows one to it back and "look" at the project from a distance, contemplating how to best continu with the build.
As far as Peter's build (@Peter Voogt) is concerned, just inimitable. I don't even try keeping up with him; he's just in another league. What is beneficial tough, he's providing us with ideas on how to customize our own builds...

Looks like a fun trip out with your better half, enjoy Thumbsup

As for the ship wreck, at least the hull planking seems to have been done quite well ROTF
You're welcome, it sure was lovely, being on a bike again and seeing the island from a different perspective.

Don't remind me of planking... It's still a few steps away, but I'm dreading the day I have to start that step of the build. Sick

OMG! You are building the WHOLE SHIP!
Not entirely, but it's close. It is this so-called plank-on-frame which attracts me (amongst others) in this build, plus the internal structure will still be visible, once finished.
What's also a bonus is that you can do some customizations. Initially I wasn't too inclined to do just that, but here in SOS are so many inspiring examples, it's hard to keep to the building instructions. So now I'm hardly following those instructions and added quite some details which are not part of the original model.

And there it is! Today at 10:29 a very friendly FedEx guy delivered an eagerly expected package from China.
Unfortunately, this is my first and also last post for this year on this Bluenose POF build log, since the Admiral put the package under lock and key; it's her Christmas present for me this year, so I'll have to sit on my hands for a while... ;)
Having said that, now I'll have to come up with a rather impressive Christmas present for the Admiral as well, which is a challenge in itself, but rest assured I'm up to it, years of experience under my belt. :)

Here some pictorial evidence of today's event:
Hallo Johan alias @RDN1954
we wish you all the BEST and a HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Birthday-Cake

Wow, Johan, so today is the big day! A very happy birthday my friend. May you be blessed with great health in the year ahead and plenty of opportunities to spend with friends and loved ones and to do what you love best

Gelukkige verjaarsdag Johan! I hope you have a great day. I hope that makes some kind of sense, it's the closest to Dutch as I can get :)
Thanks so much Nomad! It sure was a wonderful day.
(And your Dutch is close enough to be able to understand it.)
