Thanks for the birthday wishes another one over, the time is flying by.
Back to the BP l have decided to rig the masts in sections and build them up as I go. When the masts and standing rigging is complete I will do the running rigging and have a go at making sails.
I have started with the stays and lanyards.
This is how I set the deadeyes on the shrouds, I wasn't happy with my first attempt so I had to replace the shrouds and start again.
Foremast done mainmast next, I'll try to get the next ones more level.

Great detail and such meticulous work....I’m not sure I’ll be able to do this when and if I ever get there! Happy belated Birthday Tony!
Thanks Rick it's very slow going at the moment. This is the part of the build I knew I would have trouble with, I have a lot to learn and the instructions are all over the place. Hopefully I'll get quicker as I go.

I agree Tony! Even though it’s a 1st time build for me, I felt outside of the planking and lighting, I would get the body of the ship built. However, the rigging process is a slow, tedious chore. It requires patience and determination! I’m sure it’s going to be a lot like putting a round peg into a square hole for me! (Or is it a square peg into a round hole)
Yet, there comes a time that even a farmer says, “OK, enough plowing, it’s time to plant the seeds”. My point being, that at the stage of the build you’re at, you reap what you sow! Lucky for us, unlike growing vegetables, there is no timetable, pestilence, drought etc. to discourage us from seeing the fruits of our labor!
Sail slow and steady mate and your voyage will end when you say it ends!

I agree with the comment on the instructions. That and having lots of wood parts that don't seem to go anywhere. It makes me think I am missing something.
Have fun with the rigging (actually being serious). For me the rigging is what really jumps the interest up. The shear amount and complexity of it really brings the model to life.
Tony H Thanks for information about B.P. mast details .No I do not have a build log, should start from where I am at my build what I am going to do is attach a few photos just to show you where I am.Just about to start on masts and rigging managed to get most of missing parts . as you can see made jig to easy make dead eyes then made jig for gun doors put together with super glue do not know whether you know but super glue does not stick to sell a tape

Hi Terence good to see your progress, lots of good ideas with the jigs I'm glad the information was helpful. It's never too late to start a log I have learnt so much from reading them and by posting my build I have received a lot of helpful comments.

A big thank you for the encouraging words and likes. Progress is quite slow but it is getting a bit easier.

Funny things I notice when taking photos, you see things for the first time. Just noticed that I missed the inside edge when painting the top.
Although the rigging is slow and challenging it's good to do something different.

Really impressive work Tony. Your knots and ties look great! I like the idea of keeping the space open and doing Ratlines later.

Your entire ship loos great. really impressed with your the rigging on this smaller version. I'm always tempted to take my photos a little out of focus and from further away. I think my ship looks terrible in my photos, but it looks nice in person. Of course everyone that does these build logs understands that.

On the top of your mast, you made a round peg out of a square peg. Now it can fit into a round hole!

I have tried the sails in place and I'm not to happy with the way they look, to me the material is to thick and the weave to course.
My problem is do I use the material provided or find a replacement. As there is a lot of work in sewing them up I need to decide now. The other BP's that have been built using the standard sails looked OK.
Any suggestions for the best material to use as its the first time I have put sails on a model ?

Tony, try looking for percale. This material is best suited for sails.
